Removing

1. Switch ignition off.

Scheme 18

1. Open ashtray - 1 - and pull out ashtray insert - 2 - - arrow -.
2. Flip up center armrest.

Scheme 19

1. Remove rubber base from storage compartment - 1 -.
2. Unscrew lock nut - 2 -.

Scheme 20

1. Fold out beverage holder - 1 -.
2. Unscrew lock nuts - 2 -.

Note. For vehicles without center armrest, only one lock nut is installed under ashtray.

1. Pull up parking brake lever.

Scheme 21

1. Pull off trim - 1 - from parking brake lever - arrow -.

Scheme 22

1. Pry off caps - 1 -.
2. Remove hex bolts - 2 -.

Scheme 23

1. Remove center console extension - 1 - from parking brake lever.
2. Unclip diagnostic connector - 2 -.
3. Disconnect harness connector - 3 - from Remote Fuel Tank Flap Switch (E 204).

Scheme 24

Only vehicles with manual transmission

1. Unclip cover - 2 -.
2. Unscrew shift knob - 1 - together with cover - 2 - and remove upward.

Scheme 25

Continuation for all vehicles

1. Remove center console - 1 - from instrument panel and remove upward from shift lever.
2. Disconnect harness connector from cigarette lighter - 2 -.

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.

2. Remove hex bolts - 2 -.

Scheme 26

1. Raise armrest and remove tray - 1 -.

1. Open ashtray and unscrew two bolts - 2 -.
2. Loosen trim - 3 - , disconnect harness connector and remove trim.
3. Remove three nuts - 4 -.
4. Remove rear part of center console - 5 -.

Only vehicles with manual transmission

1. Unclip cover - 2 -.
2. Unscrew shift knob - 1 - together with cover - 2 - and remove upward.

Continuation for all vehicles

1. Remove center console - 1 - from instrument panel and remove upward from shift lever.
2. Disconnect harness connector from cigarette lighter - 2 -.

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
