Work sequence

  1. Disconnect fuel shut-off valve connector at injection pump.
  2. Separate quantity adjuster connection from injection pump.
  3. Remove all glow plugs using hinged socket 3220.

  1. Install adapter V.A.G 1381/12 in place of glow plugs.
  2. Check compression pressure using compression tester V.A.G 1763.

Note. Using tester. Refer to Operating instructions.

  1. Operate starter until tester shows no further pressure increase.

Compression pressure

New: 25 to 31 bar; Wear limit: 19 bar pressure

Permissible difference between all cylinders: 5 bar

  1. Install glow plugs using hinged socket 3220 tightening torque: 15 Nm.
  2. Check DTC Memory: Refer to «01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)»(ref-255011-S14512004732007052300000) from M.Y. 99-01 or «01 ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC (OBD)»(ref-255012-S25108373162007052300000) from M.Y. 2002 and on

Note. DTCs will be stored because the Diesel injection pump harness connector has been disconnected. Check and erase the DTC memory.
