CELLULAR PHONE AND TWO-WAY RADIO OPERATION
Cellular Phones and Portable Two-Way Radios with Separate External Antenna
- Radio remote controls (garage door opener) and wireless units (keyboard or PC mouse) may only be used in the vehicle if the transmitted output is maximum 100 mW.
- Please follow exactly the operating instructions and installation instructions of the manufacturer of mobile telephones, radio-based devices, and antennas.
- The devices' optimal range will only be reached with an exterior antenna.
- When telephone and two-way radio systems are installed properly, there is no danger to safety systems such as the ABS or the airbag. A prerequisite is however that there has been no intervention in their installations. Parallel wiring to such systems must be avoided.
- Excessively high electromagnetic fields can arise if mobile telephones and radio devices, with or without an incorrectly installed exterior antenna, are used.
NOTES ON OPERATION
- Never remove the memory device if you have selected the USB connection baseplate as the source. It may destroy the storage medium.
- Do not insert an MP3 player directly in the USB connection baseplate, the connection could be damaged. Always use a USB extension cable instead.
- Do not connect any other devises to the USB connection baseplate other than a USB memory stick or an MP3 player. It is not possible to play hard drives or USB hubs via the USB connection baseplate.
- The maximum input of the USB memory device must not exceed 2.5 W (500 mA/5 V).
- Never insert metal objects into the USB connection baseplate. They may cause a short circuit and damage the unit.
- If the USB connection baseplate does not recognize the device after 15 seconds, remove the device and insert it again.
- Some MP3 players must be activated with a button to create the USB connection. Refer to the Operating Instructions.
- The permissible temperature range of USB sticks and MP3 players is limited and often lies between 0° C and 40° C. For this reason, inform the customer that the storage medium must not be left in the vehicle for extended periods.
