ELECTRIC COOLING FAN TEMPERATURE SWITCH
On Camry, FWD Corolla and Tercel models, the temperature switch comes on at 194°F (90°C), and goes off at 181°F (83°C).
On MR2 models, the radiator temperature switch comes on at 199°F (93°C), and goes off at 181°F (83°C), and the engine room temperature switch comes on at 176°F (80°C), and goes off at 147°F (64°C).
RADIATOR CAP
On all models, radiator cap pressure relief valve opens at 10.7-15 psi (.75-1.05 kg/cm 2 ).
Note. Some thermostats are equipped with a bypass valve. If engine overheats, removal of the thermostat may have an adverse effect, lowering the cooling efficiency.
THERMOSTAT
On Celica, Land Cruiser, Gasoline Pickup, Supra and 4Runner, thermostat begins opening at 187-194°F (86-90°C), and fully opens at 212°F (100°C).
On Diesel Pickup models, thermostat begins opening at 187-194°F (86-90°C), and fully opens at 203°F (95°C). On all other models, thermostat begins opening at 176-183°F (80-84°C), and fully opens at 203°F (95°C).
