SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION The power window control system controls the UP/DOWN function of the power windows by using the regulator motors. The main components of this system are: the power window regulator master switch assembly, which is built into the driver side door, and the power window regulator switch, which is built into the passenger side door and rear doors. Pressing the regulator switch or either of the four switches on the master switch assembly transmits an UP/DOWN signal to the corresponding power window regulator motor. The power window control system has the following functions: Function Outline Manual UP / DOWN function Driver side power window: Function that causes window to rise while power window switch is being pulled up, and to lower while pushed halfway down. Window stops as soon as the switch is released. Passenger side power window and rear door power window: Function that causes window to rise while power window switch is being pulled up and to lower while pushed down. Window stops as soon as the switch is released. AUTO DOWN function Function that enables window of driver side door to be fully open by one press of power window switch. Remote control function Function that allows power window master switch assembly to control manual UP/DOWN operation of passenger door power window and rear door power window. Key-off operation function Function that makes it possible to operate power window for approximately 43 seconds after ignition switch is turned to ACC or LOCK position if neither front door is opened. Window lock function Function where passenger side power window and rear door power window operations are disabled when window lock switch of the master switch assembly is pressed. Passenger side power window and rear door power window can be operated when window lock switch is pressed again.

DESCRIPTION

  1. With the ignition switch ON, the power window regulator master switch assembly transmits remote switch signals to the front passenger side power window and rear door power window regulator switches. Then, the regulator switches drive the power window regulator motors.

Scheme 7: WIRING DIAGRAM

If the front passenger side manual UP / DOWN function does not operate, a malfunction may exist in the power window regulator motor assembly RH (front passenger side), power window regulator switch assembly (front passenger side), power window regulator master switch assembly or wire harness.

If none of the door windows operate, there may be a failure in the supply of power to the power window regulator master switch assembly, or the power window regulator master switch assembly itself may be malfunctioning.

The multiplex network body ECU keeps power supplied to the power window regulator master switch assembly and the regulator switch for 43 seconds after the ignition switch is turned OFF. However, if either front door is opened, if a signal from any of the front door courtesy light switches is input to the ECU during this period, or if 43 seconds pass with no action being taken, the body ECU cuts power to the master switch assembly.

Scheme 14
  1. CHECK OPERATION FUNCTION AFTER IGNITION SWITCH IS TURNED OFF After the ignition switch is turned OFF: Either front door is opened within 43 seconds but the power window can still operate. Proceed to A. 43 seconds pass and the power window can still operate. Proceed to B. B --> REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY A: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY Remove the front door courtesy light switch. Measure the switch resistance. Standard resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 - Switch body Switch pushed 10 kohms or higher 1 - Switch body Switch not pushed Below 1 ohms Reinstall the front door courtesy light switch. NG --> REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY OK: Go to next step
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH - DRIVER SIDE J/B (ECU)) Disconnect the D11 and D12 front door courtesy light switch connector. Disconnect the 1F and 1I driver side J/B connector. Measure the resistance. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition D11-1 - DCTY (1F-7) Below 1 ohms D12-1 - PCTY (1I-8) Below 1 ohms Reconnect the front door courtesy light switch connector. Reconnect the driver side J/B connector. NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK --> REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU)
