INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL STARTER ASSEMBLY Install the starter assembly with the 2 bolts. Torque: 37 N*m (377 kgf*cm, 27 ft.*lbf) Connect the starter connector. Connect the terminal 30 with the nut. Torque: 9.8 N*m (100 kgf*cm, 87 in.*lbf) Close the terminal cap.
2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER AND HOSE . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 4»(ref-493957-S34549740422012081000000)
3. INSTALL BATTERY . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 61»(ref-494105-S15240956452012081000000)
4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER INLET COVER ASSEMBLY SEAL . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 62»(ref-494105-S15240956452012081000000)
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-493943-S13306943882012081000000)

9. REMOVE ENGINE SWITCH Disengage the 2 claws and remove the engine switch. Disconnect the engine switch connector.

1. INSPECT ENGINE SWITCH Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the switch, and check the illumination condition of the engine switch. HINT: If a positive (+) battery lead and a negative (-) battery lead are incorrectly connected, the engine switch indicator light will not illuminate. If the voltage is too low, the indicator light will not illuminate. 2. REMOVE IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY Remove the 2 screws and the ignition switch. Disconnect the connector. Disconnect the connector clamp from the ignition switch.

1. INSTALL IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY Connect the connector. Connect the connector clamp to the ignition switch. Install the ignition switch with the 2 screws.
