TRANSFER SHIFT ACTUATOR MOTOR OPERATION

CAUTIONWhile testing the terminals be careful not to touch the neighboring terminals or metallic parts of relay housing.

Note. For circuit reference, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION and/or WIRING DIAGRAMS .

  1. H4F (4WD and center differential lock "FREE") to H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") shift. Connect jumper wires from heater relay as shown (Scheme 9) Then ensure that the actuator fork shaft moves to H4F (4WD and center differential lock "FREE") to H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") position. (Scheme 10)
  2. H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") to H4F (4WD and center differential lock "FREE") shift. Connect jumper wires from heater relay as shown (Scheme 9) Then ensure that the actuator fork shaft moves to H41 (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") to H4F (4WD and center differential lock "FREE") position. (Scheme 11)
  3. H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") to H2 (2WD) shift. Connect jumper wires from heater relay as shown (Scheme 9) Then ensure that the actuator fork shaft moves to H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") to H2 (2WD) position. (Scheme 12)
  4. H2 (2WD) to H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") shift. Connect jumper wires from heater relay as shown (Scheme 9) Then ensure that the actuator fork shaft moves to H2 (2WD) H4L (4WD and center differential lock "LOCK") position. (Scheme 13)
  5. If actuator does not operate as described, replace actuator.
