- INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT) Disconnect the B32 wire connector. Measure the resistance of the transmission wire. Standard resistance STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 2 (SLT+) - 8 (SLT-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 ohms 2 (SLT+) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 1 Mohms or higher 8 (SLT-) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 1 Mohms or higher NG: Go to step 3 OK: Go TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) Disconnect the B30 ECM connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B30-11 (SLT+) - B30-10 (SLT-) 20°C (68°F) 5.0 to 5.6 ohms B30-11 (SLT+) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 1 Mohms or higher B30-10 (SLT-) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 1 Mohms or higher NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR OK: REPLACE ECM
- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT Remove the shift solenoid valve SLT. Measure the resistance of the solenoid valve. Standard resistance: 5.0 to 5.6 ohms at 20°C (68°F) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead with a 21 W bulb to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 of the solenoid valve connector. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise. OK: Valve moves and makes operating noise. NG: REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE SLT OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE

- INSPECT TRANSMISSION WIRE (SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE DSL) Disconnect the B32 wire connector. Measure the resistance of the transmission wire. Standard resistance STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 10 (DSL) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 13 ohms NG: Go to step 3 OK: Go TO NEXT STEP.
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TRANSMISSION WIRE - ECM) Disconnect the B30 ECM connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector. Standard resistance STANDARD RESISTANCE Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition B30-9 (DSL) - Body ground 20°C (68°F) 11 to 13 ohms NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR OK: REPLACE ECM
- INSPECT SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE DSL Remove the shift solenoid valve DSL. Measure the resistance between the solenoid valve terminal and solenoid valve body. Standard resistance: 11 to 13 ohms at 20°C (68°F) Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to the terminal of the solenoid valve connector, and the negative (-) lead to the solenoid body. Then check that the valve moves and makes an operating noise. OK: Valve moves and makes operating noise. NG: REPLACE SHIFT SOLENOID VALVE DSL OK: REPAIR OR REPLACE TRANSMISSION WIRE

- CHECK FLUID LEVEL HINT: Drive the vehicle so that the engine and transaxle are at normal operating temperature. Fluid temperature: 70 to 80°C (158 to 176°F) Park the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake. With the engine idling and the brake pedal depressed, move the shift lever to each position from the P to L position, and return it to the P position. Take out the dipstick and wipe it clean. Fully push the dipstick back into the pipe. Take the dipstick out and check that the fluid level is in the HOT range. If the level is not in the HOT range, add transaxle fluid. CAUTION: Wear gloves when working.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- REMOVE BATTERY Loosen the nut and remove the bolt and battery clamp. Remove the battery and insulator. Remove the battery tray. Remove the 4 bolts and battery carrier. Remove the 2 bolts and battery bracket reinforcement.
- REMOVE SPEED SENSOR NC Disconnect the sensor connector. Remove the bolt and sensor. Remove the O-ring from the sensor.
- REMOVE SPEED SENSOR NT Disconnect the sensor connector. Remove the bolt and sensor. Remove the O-ring from the sensor.
