DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a malfunction in the IG1 circuit, IG2 circuit or IG hold circuit in the power management control ECU is detected.

HINT

When the cable is disconnected and reconnected to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the power source mode returns to the state it was in before the cable was disconnected.

  1. A voltage of 12 V or 5 V is output from each ECU and then input to the combination meter. The signal is changed to a pulse signal at the transistor in the combination meter. Each ECU controls the respective system based on the pulse signal.
  2. If a short occurs in an ECU, all systems in the diagram above will not operate normally.

With the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the cabin, even if an hybrid control system start operation is performed, the hybrid control system does not start (the multi-information display message (smart warning light) is not displayed). However, the hybrid control system can be started by turning the power switch on (ACC) and then pressing and holding it. If there is a malfunction when the direct line is on, the hybrid control system can be started by pressing the power switch with the brake pedal released. If there is a malfunction when the direct line is off, the hybrid control system cannot be started by pressing the power switch with the brake pedal depressed.

If any of the following operations are performed, the power management control ECU receives a signal, and changes the power source mode.

  1. With the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly in the cabin, the power switch is pressed.
  2. When the auxiliary battery of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is depleted, the brake pedal is depressed and the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held near the power switch.
  3. When the smart key system cancel function has been canceled on the customization menu, the brake pedal is depressed and the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held near the power switch.

HINT

  1. When the cable is disconnected and reconnected to the negative (-) battery terminal, the power source mode returns to the state it was in before the cable was disconnected.
  2. If the room oscillator does not recognize the key, the cause of the malfunction may be stored in the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). Refer to «OPERATION HISTORY LIST [12/2013 - ]»(ref-651398-S30150201452014081900000).
  3. If the cause of the malfunction is stored in the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), the following table is helpful in checking whether or not the malfunction was caused by wave interference.

Operating Engine Switch / Key RF Signal InterferenceWhen the power switch was operated, the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly could not be confirmed due to wave interference. Therefore, the output frequency was switched to the other channel (changed from channel 1 to channel 2 or from channel 2 to channel 1). If the cause of the malfunction has not been stored but any devices that can cause wave interference in the cabin have been removed and the room oscillator successfully recognizes the key, the possibility of wave interference is high.

When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is in the vehicle and the power switch is pressed, the power management control ECU receives a signal and changes the power source mode. In addition, when the shift lever is in P and the brake pedal is depressed, the hybrid control system can be started by pressing the power switch.

  1. When the power management control ECU is replaced with a new one and the cable is connected to the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal, the power source mode changes to on (IG).
