DESCRIPTION

The vehicle approaching speaker assembly circuit consists of the vehicle approaching speaker controller and vehicle approaching speaker assembly.

This DTC is stored when a malfunction is detected in the vehicle approaching speaker assembly circuit.

DTC No.DTC Detection ConditionTrouble Area
B1350Either of the following conditions is met: When sound output voltage is being monitored by the ECU, with the ignition switch on (IG), battery voltage 10 V or more, and warning sound being produced, a speaker circuit short condition continues for 1 second or more. When sound output voltage is being monitored by the ECU, with the ignition switch on (IG) and warning sound not being produced, a speaker circuit open condition continues for 5 seconds or more.Vehicle approaching speaker controller Vehicle approaching speaker assembly Harness or connector between vehicle approaching speaker controller and vehicle approaching speaker assembly

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER - VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY) Disconnect the G82 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector. Disconnect the A64 vehicle approaching speaker assembly connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition G82-3 (SP+) - A64-1 (+) Always Below 1 ohms G82-8 (SP-) - A64-2 (-) Always Below 1 ohms G82-3 (SP+) or A64-1 (+) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher G82-8 (SP-) or A64-2 (-) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER Reconnect the G82 vehicle approaching speaker controller connector. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Vehicle Proximity Notification System / Active Test. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream. VEHICLE PROXIMITY NOTIFICATION SYSTEM Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note Proximity Sound (Vehicle Stationary) Proximity sound (Vehicle stationary) OFF or ON Produces warning sound when vehicle is stopped Check the signal waveform according to the condition(s) in the table below. Item Condition Tool setting 1 V/DIV., 200 ms./DIV. Vehicle condition Vehicle approaching speaker operating TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Front view of wire harness connector (to Vehicle Approaching Speaker Assembly) OK The waveform is similar to that shown in the illustration. NG --> See step 5 OK: Go to next step
  3. INSPECT VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Remove the vehicle approaching speaker assembly. Refer to «REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]»(/toyota/prius-c/i-facelift-2014-2020/remont/collisionavoidance/#vehicle-proximity-notification-system-service-information) . Inspect the vehicle approaching speaker assembly. Refer to «INSPECTION [12/2013 - ]»(/toyota/prius-c/i-facelift-2014-2020/remont/collisionavoidance/#vehicle-proximity-notification-system-service-information) . NG --> See step 6 OK --> See step 4
  4. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS (SYMPTOM SIMULATION). Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [12/2013 - ]»(ref-651169-S20338414212014081900000)
  5. REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER CONTROLLER. Refer to «REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]»(/toyota/prius-c/i-facelift-2014-2020/remont/collisionavoidance/#vehicle-proximity-notification-system-service-information)
  6. REPLACE VEHICLE APPROACHING SPEAKER ASSEMBLY. Refer to «REMOVAL [12/2013 - ]»(/toyota/prius-c/i-facelift-2014-2020/remont/collisionavoidance/#vehicle-proximity-notification-system-service-information)

The vehicle approaching speaker controller receives stop light switch signals from the stop light control ECU assembly, vehicle speed signals from the combination meter assembly, engine oil pressure switch signals from the engine oil pressure switch assembly and P position switch signals from the lower shift lever assembly, and produces the warning sound from the vehicle approaching speaker assembly.
