  1. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY Refer to «REMOVAL»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/steering-column/#steering-column-service-information__removal) .
  2. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY . Refer to «DISASSEMBLY - Step 3»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/steering-column/#steering-column-service-information)
  3. REMOVE IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Disengage the 2 claws and remove the ignition or starter switch assembly.

  1. INSPECT IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Measure the switch resistance. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Component without harness connected (Ignition or Starter Switch Assembly) *b LOCK *c ACC *d ON *e START Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Position Specified Condition Between all terminals LOCK 10 kohms or higher 2 (ACC) - 4 (AM1) ACC Below 1 ohms 2 (ACC) - 4 (AM1) ON 1 (IG1) - 4 (AM1) 5 (AM2) - 6 (IG2) 3 (ST1) - 4 (AM1) START 1 (IG1) - 4 (AM1) 5 (AM2) - 6 (IG2) 5 (AM2) - 7 (ST2) If the result is not as specified, replace the ignition or starter switch assembly.

INSTALLATION

  1. INSTALL IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Engage the 2 claws to install the ignition or starter switch assembly.
  2. INSTALL UPPER STEERING COLUMN WITH SWITCH BRACKET ASSEMBLY . Refer to «REASSEMBLY - Step 6»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/steering-column/#steering-column-service-information)
  3. INSTALL STEERING COLUMN ASSEMBLY Refer to «INSTALLATION»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/steering-column/#steering-column-service-information__installation) .

  1. PRECAUTION NOTE: After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) auxiliary battery terminal notice before proceeding with work. Refer to «PRECAUTION»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/hoistjack/#introduction) .
  2. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR COVER RH . Refer to «REMOVAL - Step 3»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/seats/#seats-service-information)
  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/hoistjack/#introduction__initialization) .
  4. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to «REMOVAL - Step 4»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-panels-trim-service-information)
  5. REMOVE POWER SWITCH Disengage the 2 claws and remove the power switch. Disconnect the power switch connector.

  1. INSPECT POWER SWITCH Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 5 (SS1) - 6 (AGND) Pushed Below 1 ohms 1 (SS2) - 6 (AGND) Pushed Below 1 ohms 5 (SS1) - 6 (AGND) Not pushed 10 kohms or higher 1 (SS2) - 6 (AGND) Not pushed 10 kohms or higher If the result is not as specified, replace the power switch. Apply battery voltage between the terminals of the switch, and check the illumination condition of the power switch. TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION *a Power Switch Illumination - - Standard Resistance Measurement Condition Specified Condition Auxiliary battery positive (+) -->Terminal 9 (SWIL) Auxiliary battery negative (-) -->Terminal 6 (AGND) Illuminates (Power Switch Illumination) If the result is not as specified, replace the power switch.
  1. INSTALL POWER SWITCH Connect the power switch connector. Engage the 2 claws to install the power switch.
  2. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 12»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-panels-trim-service-information)
  3. CONNECT CABLE TO AUXILIARY BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(/toyota/prius-c/i-2011-2015/remont/hoistjack/#introduction__initialization) .
