Steering Column (Service Information): Removal & Installation Toyota Matrix E140

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER Engage the 2 claws to install the lower steering wheel boss cover to the steering wheel sub-assembly. Engage the 2 pins.
2. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Cruise Control System)
3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System) . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 1»(ref-427516-S03691342902011101200000)
4. INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/o Steering Pad Switch RH) Engage the 2 pins and claw to install the No. 1 steering wheel ornament to the steering wheel sub-assembly. Install the screw. Torque: 2.4 N*m (24 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf)
5. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH LH (w/o Steering Pad Switch RH) . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 1»(ref-427547-S40437008452011101200000)
6. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch RH) . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 2»(ref-427547-S40437008452011101200000)
7. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD
8. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE . Refer to «INSTALLATION - Step 23»(ref-427307-S22606437992011101200000)
9. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut. Torque: 50 N*m (510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf) Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
10. INSPECT STEERING WHEEL CENTER POINT
