  1. INSPECT FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Apply positive (+) battery voltage to the connector terminal 2 (B). NOTE: Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminals except terminal 2 (B) to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor. Apply negative (-) battery voltage to the connector terminals 1 (GND) and 7 (DOWN) or 10 (UP). Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows. OK POWER WINDOW CONDITION CHART Measurement Condition Specified Condition Connect the positive (+) battery cable to terminal 2 (B), and connect the negative {-) battery cable to terminal 1 (GND), and keep them connected for 3 seconds or more. With terminals 2 (B) and 1 (GND) connected, connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 10 (UP). Disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 10 (UP) within 1 second. Motor gear rotates clockwise (Up) Connect the positive (+) battery cable to terminal 2 (B), and connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 1 (GND), and keep them connected for 3 seconds or more. With terminals 2 (B) and 1 (GND) connected, connect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 7 (DOWN). Disconnect and reconnect the negative (-) battery cable to terminal 7 (DOWN) within 1 second. Motor gear rotates counterclockwise (Down) If the result is not as specified, replace the regulator motor assembly. CAUTION: Reset the power window regulator motor (initialize the pulse sensor) after installing the power window regulator motor and regulator assembly onto the door.

NOTE: Do not apply positive (+) battery voltage to any terminals except terminal 2 (B) to avoid damaging the pulse sensor inside the motor.   1. INSTALL FRONT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY LH Apply MP grease to the sliding and rotating areas of the regulator motor. Using a T25 "TORX" driver, install the motor with the 3 screws. Torque: 5.4 N.m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) HINT: A new front window regulator uses self-tapping screws to thread new installation holes when the self-tapping screws are inserted.

  8. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING LH Remove the windshield outside moulding. Put protective tape around the moulding. Using a moulding remover, detach the 6 clips and remove the moulding. NOTE: When removing the windshield outside moulding, be careful not to damage the roof drip side finish moulding clip labeled A in the illustration. If a roof drip side finish moulding clip is damaged or becomes detached from the vehicle, replace it with a new one.
  9. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING RH HINT: Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
  10. REMOVE NO. 4 WINDSHIELD MOULDING PAD Remove the 4 No. 4 windshield moulding pads. HINT: Use the same procedure to remove the 4 pads on the other side.
  11. REMOVE NO. 3 WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip(s). Put a 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit into a drill. Wind tape around the drill bit approximately 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the tip of the drill. HINT: Tape the 4 mm (0.157 in.) drill bit to prevent the drill bit from going too deep. Lightly press the drill against the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip(s), drill off the flanges of the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip(s), and remove the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip(s). NOTE: Pressing the drill too firmly will cause the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip to turn and result in the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip not being drilled through. Do not pry the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clips with the drill, because this may cause damage to the installation holes of the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clips or the drill bit. NOTE: Be careful of the drilled No. 3 windshield outside moulding clips as they may become hot. Using a vacuum cleaner, remove the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip fragments and shavings from the drilled areas. HINT: Use the same procedure to remove the clip(s) on the other side.
  12. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any roof drip side finish moulding clips. Remove the roof drip side finish moulding clips. HINT: Use the same procedure to remove the clip on the other side.

  25. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING Partially remove the roof headlining. HINT: It is not necessary to completely remove the roof headlining. Slightly lower the front section of the roof headlining so that the windshield glass can be removed in a later step. Refer to the following procedures (See «REMOVAL»(/toyota/land-cruiser/200-2007-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-panels-trim) ).
  26. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING Using a knife, cut off the moulding as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. Pull the shaded area shown in the illustration by hand to remove the windshield outside moulding. HINT: Make a partial cut in the moulding. Then pull and remove it by hand.
  27. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS Apply protective tape to the outer surface of the vehicle body to prevent scratches. From the interior, insert a piano wire between the vehicle body and glass as shown in the illustration. Tie objects that can serve as handles (for example, wooden blocks) to both wire ends. NOTE: When separating the glass from the vehicle, be careful not to damage the vehicle paint or interior/exterior ornaments. To prevent the instrument panel from being scratched when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and instrument panel. Place matchmarks over the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. NOTE: Matchmarks do not need to be placed if not reusing the glass. w/Windshield Deicer System: Disconnect the windshield deicer connector. Cut through the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible when removing the glass. Disconnect the stoppers. Using suction cups, remove the glass.
  28. REMOVE NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Using a scraper, remove the 2 stoppers.
  29. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Using a scraper, remove the dam.
  30. REMOVE FRONT INNER WINDOW MOULDING COVER LH Using a scraper, remove the cover.
  31. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dam and adhesive sticking to the glass. Clean the outer circumference of the glass with non-residue solvent. NOTE: Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it. Be careful not to damage the glass. Even if using new glass, clean the glass with non-residue solvent.
  32. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Remove the 2 windshield glass stoppers.
  33. CLEAN VEHICLE BODY Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. On the contact surface of the vehicle body, use a knife to cut away excess adhesive as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body. HINT: Leave as much adhesive on the vehicle body as possible. Clean the contact surface of the vehicle body with cleaner. HINT: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the vehicle body.

  1. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Install 2 new stoppers to the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
  2. INSTALL NO. 2 WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER Apply Primer G to the glass where the stopper will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Install 2 new stoppers onto the glass as shown in the illustration. Standard STANDARD SPECIFICATION Area Specified Condition a 13.2 mm (0.520 in.)
  3. INSTALL WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING Using a brush or sponge, coat the contact surface of the glass and moulding with Primer G as shown in the illustration. NOTE: Allow the primer coating to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer G. Throw away any leftover primer. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below. Usage Time Frame TEMPERATURE CHART Temperature Usage Time Frame 35°C (95°F) 15 minutes 20°C (68°F) 1 hour 40 minutes 5°C (41 °F) 8 hours Remove the peeling paper from the windshield outside moulding. Install the moulding as shown in the illustration.
  4. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Apply Primer G to the glass where the glass adhesive dam will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the adhesive part of the dam. Install the dam (adhesive side) to the glass (Primer G area), but exclude the area above the notches on the upper part of the glass.
  5. INSTALL FRONT INNER WINDOW MOULDING COVER LH Apply Primer G to the glass where the inner window moulding cover will be installed. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Remove the peeling paper from the inner window moulding cover. Install the cover to the glass, as shown in the illustration. Standard STANDARD SPECIFICATION Area Specified Condition a 14.0 mm (0.551 in.)
  6. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS Position the glass. Using suction cups, place the glass in the correct position. Check that the entire contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even. Place matchmarks on the glass and vehicle body on the locations indicated in the illustration. HINT: Placing matchmarks is only necessary when installing new glass. If it is the reused glass, matchmarks should already be present. When reusing the glass, check and correct the matchmark positions. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the vehicle body correctly. Using suction cups, remove the glass. Using a brush, apply Primer M to the exposed part of the vehicle body. NOTE: Allow the primer to dry for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply primer to the adhesive. Throw away any leftover primer. Do not apply too much primer. Using a brush or sponge, apply Primer G to the contact surface of the glass. Standard STANDARD SPECIFICATION Area Specified Condition a 9.0 mm (0.354 in.) b 7.0 mm (0.276 in.) c 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) d 4.0 mm (0.157 in.) e 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) Do not apply too much primer. Apply adhesive to the glass. Adhesive: Toyota Genuine Windshield Glass Adhesive or equivalent Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle as shown in the illustration. HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time written in the table below. Check that the vehicle body and glass have a small gap between them. Hold the glass in place securely with protective tape or equivalent until the adhesive hardens. NOTE: Do not drive the vehicle for the amount of time written in the table below.   7. CHECK FOR LEAK AND REPAIR Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.

  21. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any roof drip side finish moulding clip. NOTE: Remove the double-sided tape where the clips will be installed on the body and clean the body with a non-residue type solvent. Apply a 2 to 3 mm (0.0787 to 0.118 in.) bead of adhesive (3M DP-105 or equivalent) to a new roof drip side finish moulding clip. HINT: Adhesive strength (tensile strength): 13.7 MPa (140 kgf/cm 2 , 1991 psi) or more when the temperature is 23°C (73°F). Apply primer to the body where the roof drip side finish moulding clip will be installed. NOTE: Do not let the primer dry. Install the clips to the positions on the roof panel shown in the illustration. Determine the locations and firmly press and install the roof drip side finish moulding clip after lightly applying adhesive (3M DP-105 or equivalent). Standard STANDARD SPECIFICATION Area Specified Condition a -0.5 to 9.5 mm (0.0197 to 0.374 in.) b -3.0 to 3.0 mm (-0.118 to 0.118 in.) Install the windshield outside moulding when 40 minutes or more have elapsed after pressing and installing the roof drip side finish moulding clip. HINT: Initial hardening time: 40 minutes Complete hardening time: 48 hours
  22. INSTALL NO. 3 WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING CLIP HINT: Perform the following procedures if replacing any No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip(s). Install a nose piece to an air riveter or hand riveter. Insert the mandrel part of a new No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip into the nose piece. Using the riveter, install the No. 3 windshield outside moulding clip(s) shown in the illustration. HINT: If the clip cannot be cut, pull it once and cut it. NOTE: Do not pry the clip with the riveter, as this will cause damage to the riveter and mandrel. Confirm that the clips are seated properly against the moulding. Do not tilt the riveter when installing the clip to the moulding. Do not leave any space between the clip head and moulding. Do not leave any space between the moulding and body. Firmly hold together the 2 items while installing the clip.
  23. INSTALL NO. 4 WINDSHIELD MOULDING PAD Install the 4 No. 4 moulding pads. HINT: Use the same procedure to install the 4 windshield moulding pads on the other side.
  24. INSTALL WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING LH Attach the 6 clips to install the moulding. Remove the protective tape from the edges of the moulding.

  1. ACTIVE TEST HINT: Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. When the windshield deicer switch is turned on, a windshield deicer activation request signal is sent via the LIN communication line*1 or CAN communication line*2 to the air conditioning amplifier. Then the air conditioning amplifier operates the windshield deicer. When the on signal from the switch is received, the deicer relay (DEICER) is operated for 15 minutes. Also, if the off signal from the switch is received within 15 minutes, the deicer relay (DEICER) operation is stopped.
