DISASSEMBLY
- REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 2 AIR DUCT Remove the 3 screws and duct.
- REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 3 AIR DUCT Remove the 2 screws and duct.
- REMOVE DRAIN COOLER HOSE Remove the screw. Detach the claw and remove the drain hose.
- REMOVE REAR AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
- REMOVE REAR MODE DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Remove the 2 screws and plate cover. Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
- REMOVE NO. 2 AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
- REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Remove the packing. Remove the bolt and 4 screws. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips. Remove the air conditioner accessory assembly. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioner accessory assembly.
- REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE Disconnect the connector. Detach the clamp. Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and expansion valve.
- REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY Remove the screw and detach the claw. Remove the heater clamp. Remove the heater radiator.
- REMOVE BLOWER WITH FAN (REAR) MOTOR SUBASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 3 screws and blower motor.
- REMOVE BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and blower motor control.
- REMOVE EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Remove the 12 screws and rear cooling unit case LH. Remove the evaporator. Remove the 2 O-rings from the evaporator.
- REMOVE REAR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor.
- REMOVE WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS SUB-ASSEMBLY

- INSPECT REAR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below. - INSTALL WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS SUB-ASSEMBLY
- INSTALL REAR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR Attach the 2 claws and to install the sensor.
- INSTALL EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the hose joint. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent Install the 2 O-rings to the evaporator. Install the evaporator. Install the rear cooling unit case LH with the 12 screws.
- INSTALL BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL Install the blower motor control with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
- INSTALL BLOWER WITH FAN (REAR) MOTOR SUBASSEMBLY Install the blower motor with the 3 screws. Connect the connector.
- INSTALL HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY Install the radiator unit to the rear cooling unit. Install the heater clamp with the screw and attach the claw.
- INSTALL REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, install the expansion valve with the 2 hexagon bolts. Torque: 3.5 N*m (36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf) Attach the clamp. Connect the connector.
- INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 2 new O-ring 5 and the fitting surface of the hose joint. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent Install the 2 O-rings to the air conditioner accessory assembly. Install the air conditioner accessory assembly. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips. Install the bolt and 4 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) Install hew packing as shown in the illustration see scheme 492
- INSTALL REAR MODE DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Align the damper servo as shown in the illustration see scheme 493, and install it with the 2 screws. Connect the connector. Install the plate cover with the 2 screws.
- INSTALL NO. 2 AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Align the damper servo as shown in the illustration see scheme 495, and install it with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
- INSTALL REAR AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Align the damper servo as shown in the illustration see scheme 496, and install it with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
- INSTALL DRAIN COOLER HOSE Attach the claw to install the drain hose. Install the screw.
- INSTALL REAR SIDE NO. 3 AIR DUCT Install the duct with the 2 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
- INSTALL REAR SIDE NO. 2 AIR DUCT Install the duct with the 3 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)

- REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the screw and amplifier.

- INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY Install the amplifier with the screw. Connect the connector.

- DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- REMOVE MAGNET CLUTCH RELAY Remove the magnet clutch relay from the engine room relay block.
- INSPECT MAGNET CLUTCH RELAY Measure the resistance of the magnet clutch relay. Standard Resistance TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 3-5 Battery voltage not applied between terminals 1 and 2 10 kohms or higher Battery voltage applied to terminal 1 and 2 Below 1 ohms If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.
- INSTALL MAGNET CLUTCH RELAY Install the magnet clutch relay to the engine room relay block.
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

- INSPECT REAR COOLER RELAY Measure the resistance of the relay. Standard Resistance TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART Tester Connection Specified Condition 3-4 Below 1 ohms 3-5 10 kohms or higher 3-4 10 kohms or higher (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2) 3-5 Below 1 ohms (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2)
- INSTALL REAR COOLER RELAY Install the rear cooler relay to the engine room relay block.
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

- INSTALL PTC HEATER RELAY (PTC HTR 1, PTC HTR 2, PTC HTR 3) Install the 3 PTC heater relays to the engine room relay block.

- REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY Remove the 4 screws. Detach the 5 claws and remove the air conditioning control.
- INSTALL NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY Attach the 5 claws to install the air conditioning control. Install the 4 screws.
- INSTALL REAR CONSOLE END PANEL SUBASSEMBLY W/ Cool Box: Install the rear console end panel (See «INSTALLATION»(/toyota/land-cruiser/200-2007-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#interior-panels-trim) ).
