DISASSEMBLY Toyota Land Cruiser 200

DISASSEMBLY

  1. REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 2 AIR DUCT Remove the 3 screws and duct.
  2. REMOVE REAR SIDE NO. 3 AIR DUCT Remove the 2 screws and duct.
  3. REMOVE DRAIN COOLER HOSE Remove the screw. Detach the claw and remove the drain hose.
  4. REMOVE REAR AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
  5. REMOVE REAR MODE DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Remove the 2 screws and plate cover. Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
  6. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and damper servo.
  7. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Remove the packing. Remove the bolt and 4 screws. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips. Remove the air conditioner accessory assembly. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioner accessory assembly.
  8. REMOVE REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE Disconnect the connector. Detach the clamp. Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and expansion valve.
  9. REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY Remove the screw and detach the claw. Remove the heater clamp. Remove the heater radiator.
  10. REMOVE BLOWER WITH FAN (REAR) MOTOR SUBASSEMBLY Disconnect the connector. Remove the 3 screws and blower motor.
  11. REMOVE BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL Disconnect the connector. Remove the 2 screws and blower motor control.
  12. REMOVE EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Remove the 12 screws and rear cooling unit case LH. Remove the evaporator. Remove the 2 O-rings from the evaporator.
  13. REMOVE REAR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR Detach the 2 claws and remove the sensor.
  14. REMOVE WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. INSPECT REAR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR Measure the resistance according to the value (s) in the table below. NOTE: Even slightly touching the sensor may change the resistance value. Be sure to hold the connector of the sensor. When measuring the sensor temperature must be the same as the ambient temperature. HINT: As the temperature increases, the resistance decreases (Scheme 336)

  1. INSTALL WIRING AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS SUB-ASSEMBLY
  2. INSTALL REAR EVAPORATOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR Attach the 2 claws and to install the sensor.
  3. INSTALL EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 2 new O-rings and the fitting surface of the hose joint. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent Install the 2 O-rings to the evaporator. Install the evaporator. Install the rear cooling unit case LH with the 12 screws.
  4. INSTALL BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL Install the blower motor control with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
  5. INSTALL BLOWER WITH FAN (REAR) MOTOR SUBASSEMBLY Install the blower motor with the 3 screws. Connect the connector.
  6. INSTALL HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY Install the radiator unit to the rear cooling unit. Install the heater clamp with the screw and attach the claw.
  7. INSTALL REAR COOLING UNIT EXPANSION VALVE Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, install the expansion valve with the 2 hexagon bolts. Torque: 3.5 N*m (36 kgf*cm, 31 in.*lbf) Attach the clamp. Connect the connector.
  8. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER ACCESSORY ASSEMBLY Sufficiently apply compressor oil to 2 new O-ring 5 and the fitting surface of the hose joint. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent Install the 2 O-rings to the air conditioner accessory assembly. Install the air conditioner accessory assembly. Using pliers, grip the claws of the clips and slide the 2 clips. Install the bolt and 4 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf) Install hew packing as shown in the illustration see scheme 492
  9. INSTALL REAR MODE DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Align the damper servo as shown in the illustration see scheme 493, and install it with the 2 screws. Connect the connector. Install the plate cover with the 2 screws.
  10. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Align the damper servo as shown in the illustration see scheme 495, and install it with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
  11. INSTALL REAR AIR MIX DAMPER SERVO SUBASSEMBLY Align the damper servo as shown in the illustration see scheme 496, and install it with the 2 screws. Connect the connector.
  12. INSTALL DRAIN COOLER HOSE Attach the claw to install the drain hose. Install the screw.
  13. INSTALL REAR SIDE NO. 3 AIR DUCT Install the duct with the 2 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)
  14. INSTALL REAR SIDE NO. 2 AIR DUCT Install the duct with the 3 screws. Torque: 5.4 N*m (55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf)

INSPECT AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR (SOLAR SENSOR) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 6 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, then measure the according to the value (s) in the table below. Standard Voltage TESTER CONNECTION SPECIFIED CONDITION REFERENCE CHART Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (TSL) - 3 (CLTE) Sensor subject to electric light 0.5 to 3.0 V 1 (TSL) - 3 (CLTE) Sensor covered with a cloth 0.5 V or less 2 (TSR) - 3 (CLTE) Sensor subject to electric light 0.5 to 3.0 V 2 (TSR) - 3 (CLTE) Sensor covered with a cloth 0.8 V or less If the result is not as specified, replace the automatic light control sensor. NOTE: The connection procedure for using a digital tester such as a TOYOTA electrical tester is shown above. HINT: As the inspection light is moved away from the sensor, the voltage increases. Use an incandescent lamp for inspection. Bring it within 30 cm (11.8 in.) of the A/C solar sensor.

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  15. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY Fold back the floor carpet. HINT: Fold back the carpet until it is possible to remove the rear No. 6 air duct.
  16. REMOVE REAR NO. 6 AIR DUCT Disconnect the 2 connectors. Remove the 5 screws and duct.
  17. REMOVE DUCT TEMPERATURE SENSOR Detach the 4 claws and remove the 2 sensors.

  1. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER Remove the front bumper cover (See «REMOVAL»(/toyota/land-cruiser/200-2007-2012/remont/exteriorinterior-trim/#exterior-panels-trim) ).
  2. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM (See «REPLACEMENT»(/toyota/land-cruiser/200-2007-2012/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#heating-air-conditioning) )
  3. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR Disconnect the connector. Remove the pressure sensor. Remove the O-ring from the pressure sensor. NOTE: Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.
  1. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONER PRESSURE SENSOR Sufficiently apply compressor oil to a new O-ring and the fitting surface of the pressure sensor. Compressor oil: ND-OIL 8 or equivalent Install the O-ring on the pressure sensor. Install the pressure sensor. Torque: 10.8 N*m (110 kgf*cm, 8 ft.*lbf) Connect the connector.
  2. CHARGE REFRIGERANT (See «REPLACEMENT»(/toyota/land-cruiser/200-2007-2012/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#heating-air-conditioning) )
  3. WARM UP ENGINE (See «REPLACEMENT»(/toyota/land-cruiser/200-2007-2012/remont/automatic-hvac-system/#heating-air-conditioning) )

  5. REMOVE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET Remove the 4 bolts. Pull the radio receiver to detach the 8 claws on the backside of the radio receiver. Disconnect the connectors and remove the radio receiver.

  1. INSTALL MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET Connect the connectors. Insert the radio receiver and attach the 8 claws on its backside. NOTE: When inserting the radio receiver, do not press the knobs on it. Install the radio receiver with the 4 bolts.

  11. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY Pull the radio receiver to detach the 5 claws on the backside of the radio receiver. Disconnect the connectors and remove the radio receiver.

  1. INSTALL AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY Connect the connectors. Insert the radio receiver and attach the 5 claws on its backside. NOTE: When inserting the radio receiver, do not press the knobs on it.
