Compression (Camry) Toyota Land Cruiser 100 рестайлинг

Compression (Camry)

  1. Warm engine to normal operating temperature before checking compression. Stop engine. Ensure battery is fully charged. Disconnect injector connectors.
  2. Remove intake air surge tank. Disconnect throttle position sensor connector, throttle control motor sensor connector, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) gas temperature sensor connector and EGR valve position sensor connector. Disconnect 2 water bypass hoses and purge hose. Disconnect hoses and cables. Remove 4 nuts, EGR pipe and 2 gaskets. Remove 2 bolts and No. 1 engine hanger. Remove 2 bolts and surge tank stay No. 1. Disconnect engine wire from emission control valve set. Using an 8 mm socket wrench, remove 2 bolts, 2 nuts and intake air surge tank. (Scheme 1)
  3. Remove ignition coils. See «IGNITION COIL»(ref-151984-S18546097782003010900000) under IGNITION SYSTEMS in REMOVAL & INSTALLATION - V6 & V8 article. Remove spark plugs.
  4. Fully open throttle and using compression gauge (SST 09992-00500), check compression while cranking engine. Read compression in a short a time as possible. Ensure compression is within specification. See «COMPRESSION SPECIFICATIONS»(/toyota/land-cruiser/100-2002-2005/remont/testing-diagnostics/#engine-controls-basic-diagnostic-procedures-v6-v8) table.
  5. If cylinder compression is low, pour a small amount of engine oil into cylinder through spark plug hole and inspect again. If adding oil increases compression, it is likely that piston rings and/or cylinder bore are worn or damaged. If pressure stays low, a valve may be sticking or seating improperly, or there may be leakage past head gasket.
  6. Install and tighten spark plugs to 13 ft. lbs. (18 N.m). Reinstall and tighten ignition coils to 71 INCH lbs. (8 N.m).
  7. Install and tighten air intake chamber assembly bolts and nuts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 N.m). Install and tighten No. 1 engine hanger bolts to 29 ft. lbs. (39 N.m). Install and tighten surge tank stay No. 1 bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (20 N.m). Install EGR pipe nuts to 9 ft. lbs. (12 N.m).
