SYSTEM DESCRIPTION
- Driver seat belt warning light When the driver seat belt is not fastened with the power switch on (IG), the driver seat belt warning light on the combination meter assembly comes on to inform the driver. The center airbag assembly detects the driver seat belt condition and sends signals to the body ECU and the meter assembly via CAN communication.
- Passenger seat belt warning When the passenger seat belt is not fastened with the power switch on (IG) position and the passenger seat occupied, check that the passenger seat belt warning light on navigation receiver *1 or hazard warning switch *2 blinks. The occupant detection sensor detects if the passenger seat is occupied and sends signals to the meter assembly. The inner belt detects the passenger seat belt condition and sends signals to the meter assembly. After receiving the signals from the occupant detection sensor and inner belt, the meter assembly sends signals to navigation receiver *1 or hazard warning switch *2 to request the passenger seat belt warning light to blink or go off. HINT: *1 : w/ Navigation System *2 : w/o Navigation System
DESCRIPTION
When the power switch is on (IG), the center airbag sensor assembly transmits front seat inner belt status signals to the combination meter assembly through CAN. If the driver seat belt is not fastened, the combination meter assembly blinks the driver seat belt warning light. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.
Note. The seat belt warning system uses CAN. Before troubleshooting the seat belt warning system, perform "COMMUNICATION FUNCTION CHECK" by following "HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING" to confirm that the communication systems are normal (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING ).
Scheme 84
The occupant detection ECU detects the state of the front seat inner belt assembly RH and road sensor when the front passenger seat is occupied with the power switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front seat belt warning light on the navigation receiver assembly *1 or hazard warning light *2 blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.
