- PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING TECHSTREAM When using the Techstream with the engine switch off to troubleshoot: Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn the courtesy light switch on and off at 1.5-second intervals until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).
- PRECAUTIONS WHEN WORKING ON ELECTRIC STEERING LOCK If the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) is replaced, open and close the driver door. The engine may not start until this is performed. HINT: Opening and closing the driver door causes the steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly) to memorize the correct steering lock bar position.

Note. Turn the ignition switch off before measuring the resistance of the CAN bus main wires and CAN bus branch wires. After the ignition switch is turned off, check that the key reminder warning system and light reminder warning system are not in operation. Before measuring the resistance, leave the vehicle as is for at least 1 minute and do not operate the ignition switch, any other switches or the doors. If any doors need to be opened in order to check the connectors, open the doors and leave them open.
HINT
Operating the ignition switch, any other switches or a door triggers related ECU and sensor communication on the CAN. This communication will cause the resistance value to change.

- FAIL-SAFE FUNCTION When communication fails in any of the CAN bus wires (communication wires) due to a short circuit or other causes, the fail-safe function which is specified for each system, operates to prevent the system from malfunctioning.
