PRECAUTION

  1. PRECAUTION WHEN USING TECHSTREAM When using the Techstream with the engine switch off, connect the Techstream to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Key. While using the Techstream, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the Techstream and the vehicle.
  2. PRECAUTION FOR REGISTRATION If replacing any of the following parts, refer to the registration procedures. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-551691-S00631491842013051500000) . Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) Steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) Electrical key transmitter sub-assembly ECM

ComponentOutline
Engine switch Transponder key amplifierTurns on the power and starts the engine. Contains a built-in transponder key amplifier to start the engine when the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly does not operate properly due to a depleted battery or wave interference.
Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)Changes the power source mode by operating the ACC and IG relays. Controls starting by operating the starter relay. Performs key verification. Controls the electrical key antenna (outside), electrical key antenna (indoor) and door lock/unlock sensor. Outputs smart entry door lock/unlock commands. Outputs steering lock actuator assembly lock/unlock command signals. Outputs immobiliser set/unset commands. Forms the smart entry detection area. Records codes for smart verification.
ECMOutputs a signal indicating that the engine has started to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) when starting the engine.
Steering lock ECU (steering lock actuator assembly)Receives command signals from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and activates the steering lock actuator assembly. Records codes for smart verification.
Combination meter assemblyOperates various warnings (messages on the multi-information display, sounding of the buzzer in the combination meter, blinking or illumination of the smart warning light) according to the command signals from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). Displays information or operates LEDs when the smart key system has a malfunction. Outputs a vehicle speed signal to the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).
IG, ACC relayTurns on/off according to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and provides power to each system.
Stop light switch assemblyDetects that the brake pedal has been depressed (switch is on) and outputs a signal to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).
No. 1 indoor electrical key antenna assembly (front floor) No. 2 indoor electrical key antenna assembly (rear floor)Sends the request code from the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) and forms the vehicle interior detection area.
Door control and tire pressure monitoring system receiver assemblyReceives the smart key system code/wireless code sent from the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly and sends it to the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly).
Electrical key transmitter sub-assemblySends the ID code upon receiving a request signal.

CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS

  1. CUSTOMIZE SMART KEY SYSTEM (for Start Function) HINT: The following items can be customized. NOTE: When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure that the function can be customized. Record the current settings before customizing. Customizing with the Techstream Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Customize Setting / Smart Key/Access or Warning. Select the setting by referring to the table below. SMART KEY/ACCESS Display Default Content Setting Relevant ECU Ignition Available Area (Entry ignition available area) All Function that sets the area that the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly must be in before the engine switch can be operated. Front or All Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) Engine Start Indicator ON Function that turns the smart warning light on the combination meter assembly on or off. OFF or ON Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) WARNING Display Default Content Setting Relevant ECU Key Low Battery Warning (Warns when transmitter battery becomes weak) ON Enables or disables the sounding of the buzzer when the transmitter battery is low and the engine switch is turned off after being on (IG) for 20 minutes or more. OFF or ON Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) Entry cancel function (manual operation) HINT: While the smart key system is canceled, it is possible to lock and unlock the doors with the wireless operation, and the start system can be operated by holding the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly near the engine switch. The following functions are disabled when the smart key system is canceled. Entry unlock/lock functions Entry luggage compartment door open function Push-button start function Key lock-in prevention function Entry warning functions When canceling the smart key system through manual operation: Make sure the following conditions are met: The engine switch is off. The driver door is closed. The driver door is unlocked. Press the unlock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. Open the driver door within 5 seconds of completing the step above (driver door: closed --> opened). With the driver door open, press the unlock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly 2 times within 5 seconds of completing the step above. NOTE: If the driver door is closed before or while pressing the unlock switch, the entry cancel setting mode will end. Close and open the driver door twice (driver door: open --> closed --> opened --> closed --> opened). With the driver door open, press the unlock switch of the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly 2 times. NOTE: If the driver door is closed before or while pressing the unlock switch, the entry cancel setting mode will end. Close and open the driver door (driver door: open --> closed --> opened). Close the driver door within 5 seconds of completing the above step. Check that the wireless buzzer sounds twice (short beeps) to confirm that the smart key system has been canceled. HINT: Finish steps 5 to 7 within 30 seconds. Perform the following procedure to restore the smart key system to the active state from the canceled state. Perform the procedures to cancel the smart key system again. Check that the wireless buzzer sounds once (short beep) to confirm that the smart key system has been restored to the active state. HINT: The system changes between the canceled state and the active state each time the procedure to cancel the system through manual operation is performed. The buzzer sounds twice when the system changes from the active state to the canceled state, and sounds once when the system changes from the canceled state to the active state.
