REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

| CAUTION | When discharging air conditioning system, use only approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. Make every attempt to avoid discharging refrigerant into the atmosphere. |
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, radio will go into anti-theft protection mode. Obtain radio anti-theft protection code from owner prior to servicing vehicle. |

- Discharge A/C system using approved refrigerant recovery/recycling equipment. Drain engine coolant. Disconnect heater hose from heater unit. Remove blower unit, then remove instrument panel and reinforcement. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in the «A/C-HEATER SYSTEM - MANUAL»(ref-36697) article. Disconnect refrigerant lines and cap open fittings.
- Disconnect connectors from A/C-heater unit. Remove nuts and A/C-heater unit. Disassemble A/C-heater unit to remove evaporator, expansion valve, aspirator, water temperature sensor and heater core. (Scheme 3) To install, reverse removal procedure. Evacuate, recharge and leak-test system.
Scheme 3
Remove left front door scuff plate. Remove left cowl side trim. Remove lower finish panel. Remove lower left instrument panel finish panel. Disconnect blower motor linear controller. Remove retaining screws and blower motor linear controller. To install, reverse removal procedure.
Drain engine coolant. Remove instrument panel and reinforcement. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in A/C-HEATER SYSTEM - MANUAL article. Remove clamps and disconnect heater core pipe. Remove heater core. (Scheme 3) To install, reverse removal procedure.

Removal & Installation (Air Mix Servomotor)
Remove driver-side scuff plate, cowl trim panel and lower instrument panel trim. Disconnect servomotor connector. Remove screws, then servomotor. To install, reverse removal procedure.
