1. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSY (See ROOF HEADLINING ) Remove the front door weatherstrip LH. Remove the front door weatherstrip RH. Remove the 2 assist grips. Remove the front pillar garnish LH. Remove the front pillar garnish RH. Remove the LH Visor assy. Remove the RH Visor assy. Remove the LH visor. Remove the RH visor. Remove the 2 visor holders. Remove the roof console box assy. Remove the roof headlining assy.
2. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY (See «REPLACEMENT»(ref-190140-S19522260892005091500000) )
3. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSY (See «REPLACEMENT»(ref-190137-S14712597242005091500000) ) Remove the 2 front wiper arm head caps. Remove the FR wiper arm LH. Remove the FR wiper arm RH. Remove the front fender to cowl side seal LH. Remove the front fender to cowl side seal RH. Remove the cowl top ventilator louver.
4. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE LH (See ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH )
5. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTSIDE RH (See ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING LH )
6. REMOVE WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTER UPPER NOTE: Do not damage the body with the knife. Using a knife, cut off the moulding (Scheme 3) Remove the remaining moulding. NOTE: When removing, make a cut partly, pull and remove it by hand.
7. REMOVE WINDSHIELD GLASS Pass a piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior. NOTE: Apply protective tape to the outer surface to prevent the surface from being scratched. NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and the interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects. Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass. Disengage the stoppers. Using a suction rubber, remove the glass. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible when removing the glass.
8. CLEAN WINDSHIELD GLASS Using a scraper, remove the damaged stoppers, dam and adhesive sticking to the glass. Clean the outer circumference of the glass with white gasoline. NOTE: Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it. Be careful not to damage the body.
9. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER NO. 2 Coat the installation part of the stopper with Primer G. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use. Do not apply too much primer. Install the 2 new windshield glass stoppers No.2 onto the glass (Scheme 6) DIMENSION Location Specification A 40.0 mm (1.575 in.) B 7.8 mm (0.307 in.)
10. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS STOPPER NO. 1 Install 2 new windshield glass stoppers No. 1 to the body (Scheme 7)
11. INSTALL WINDOW GLASS ADHESIVE DAM Coat the installation part of the window glass adhesive dam with Primer G. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Do not apply too much primer. Install new dam with double-stick tape all the way around the glass except where the dam is installed (Scheme 8) Dimension: DIMENSION Location Specification C 9.5 mm (0.374 in.) D 31.4 mm (1.236 in.)
12. INSTALL WINDSHIELD MOULDING OUTER UPPER Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer G. Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use. Install the windshield moulding outer upper.
13. INSTALL WINDSHIELD GLASS Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the body to shape the surface. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible. NOTE: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body. Clean the contact surface of the body with a piece of shop rag saturated with cleaner. Position the glass. Using a suction rubber, place the glass in the correct position. Check that the whole contact surface of the glass rim is perfectly even. NOTE: Check that the stoppers are attached to the body correctly. When reusing the glass, check and correct the reference mark positions. Place reference marks between the glass and body. Remove the glass. Using a brush, coat the exposed part of the body on the vehicle side with Primer M. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M. Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use. NOTE: If the area other than the specified is coated by accident, wipe off the primer with a clean shop rag before it dries. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Do not keep any of the opened Primer G for later use. Using a brush or sponge, coat the edge of the glass and the contact surface with Primer G. Apply adhesive. Adhesive: Part No. 08850-00801 or equivalent Cut off the tip of the cartridge nozzle (Scheme 14) HINT: After cutting off the tip, use all adhesive within the time described in «TACK FREE TIME»(ref-190140-S11559600272005091500000). TACK FREE TIME Temperature Tackfree Time 35°C (95°F) 15 minutes 20°C (68°F) 100 minutes 5°C (41°F) 8 hours Load the sealer gun with the cartridge. Coat the glass with adhesive (Scheme 13) DIMENSION A 12.0 mm (0.472 in.) B 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) C 3.0 mm (0.118 in.) D 24.9 mm (0.980 in.) Install the glass. Using a suction rubber, position the glass so that the reference marks are aligned, and press it in gently along the rim. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Check that the stoppers are attached to the body correctly. Check the clearance between the body and glass. Lightly press the glass front surface for close contact. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive. NOTE: Apply adhesive onto the glass rim. CAUTION: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in «MINIMUM TIME»(ref-190140-S37567610922005091500000). 14. INSPECT FOR LEAKS AND REPAIR Conduct a leak test after the adhesive has completely hardened. Seal any leaks with auto glass sealer.

3. REMOVE ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSY INNER LH (See ROOF HEADLINING ) Remove the deck board. Remove the deck board assy. Remove the rear floor mat support plate. Remove the back door weatherstrip. Remove the rear door scuff plate LH. Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip LH. Remove the luggage hold belt striker assy, (h) Remove deck trim cover rear. 4. REMOVE QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RR LH Disconnect the connectors. Pass a piano wire through between the body and glass from the interior. Tie both wire ends to wooden blocks or similar objects. NOTE: When separating the glass, take care not to damage the paint and the interior and exterior ornaments. To prevent scratching the safety pad when removing the glass, place a plastic sheet between the piano wire and safety pad. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible when removing the glass. Cut off the adhesive by pulling the piano wire around the glass. Remove the glass.
5. CLEAN QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RR LH Clean the outer circumference of the glass with white gasoline. NOTE: Do not touch the glass surface after cleaning it. Be careful not to damage the body.
6. INSTALL STOPPER CUSHION Install new stopper cushion to the body (Scheme 21)
7. INSTALL QUARTER WINDOW ASSY RR LH Clean and shape the contact surface of the vehicle body. NOTE: Leave as much adhesive on the body as possible. Using a knife, cut away any rough adhesive on the contact surface of the body to shape the surface. NOTE: Even if all the adhesive has been removed, clean the body. Clean the contact surface of the body with a piece of shop rag saturated with cleaner. Using a brush, coat the exposed part of the body on the vehicle side with Primer M. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Do not coat the adhesive with Primer M. Do not keep any of the opened Primer M for later use. Coat the glass with adhesive (Scheme 25) DIMENSION A 12.0 mm (0.472 in.) B 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) C 13.0 mm (0.512 in.) D 13.0 mm (0.512 in.) E 8.0 mm (0.315 in.) Install the glass to the body. Hold quarter window assy in place securely with protective tape or equivalent to the body until the adhesive hardens. NOTE: Dry the primer coating for 3 minutes or more. Check that the clips are attached to the body correctly. Check the clearance between the body and glass. Lightly press the glass front surface for close contact. Using a scraper, remove any excess or protruding adhesive. Apply adhesive onto the glass rim. CAUTION: Take care not to drive the vehicle during the time described in «MINIMUM TIME»(ref-190140-S18424318472005091500000). 1. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSY Inspect operation of the defogger switch indicator. If the result is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assy. Inspect the defogger switch continuity. If the result is not as specified, replace the air conditioning control assy.
2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH (W/ OUTER MIRROR HEATER) Inspect operation of the mirror defogger operation. If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH (W/ OUTER MIRROR HEATER) Inspect operation of the mirror defogger operation. If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
4. INSPECT BACK WINDOW (DEFOGGER WIRE) NOTE: When cleaning the glass, using a soft and dry cloth wipe the glass along of the wire. Take care not to damage the wires. Do not use detergents or glass cleaners including abrasive ingredients. When measuring voltage, wrap a piece of tin foil around the tip of the negative probe and press the foil against the wire with your finger (Scheme 38) Turn the ignition switch ON. Turn the defogger switch ON. Inspect the voltage at the center of each heat wire (Scheme 39) STANDARD Voltage Criteria Approx. 5 V Okay wire is not broken Approx. 10 V or 0 V Wire is not broken NOTE: If there is approximately 10 V, the wire maybe broken between the center of the wire and the positive (+) end. If there is no voltage, the wire maybe broken between the center of the wire and ground. Place the voltmeter positive (+) lead against the defogger wire on the battery side. Place the voltmeter negative (-) lead with the foil strip against the wire on the ground side. Slide the positive (+) lead from battery to ground side. The point where the voltmeter deflects from several V to 0 V is the place where the defogger wire is broken. NOTE: If the defogger wire is not broken, the voltmeter indicates 0 V at the positive (+) end of the defogger wire but gradually increases to about 12 V as the meter probe moves to the other end. If necessary, repair the defogger wire. Clean the broken wire tips with grease, wax and silicone remover. Place the masking tape along the both sides of the wire. Thoroughly mix the repair agent (DuPont paste No. 4817). Using a fine tip brush, apply a small amount of the agent to the wire. After a few minutes, remove the masking tape. NOTE: Do not repair the defogger wire for at least 24 hours.
5. INSPECT DEFOGGER RELAY (Marking: DEF) Inspect the continuity. If the result is not as specified, replace the relay.

1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR SWITCH ASSY L side of left/right adjustment switch: Inspect the mirror switch continuity. If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy. R side of left/right adjustment switch: Inspect the mirror switch continuity. If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assy.
2. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH Disconnect the mirror connector. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face (Scheme 50)and (Scheme 51). If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.
3. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY RH Disconnect the mirror connector. Apply battery voltage and inspect operation of the mirror face (Scheme 52)and (Scheme 53). If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

1. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY Pushing portions (a) as indicated in (Scheme 54), remove the cover. Pushing the claw in the direction (b), slide the mirror assy in the direction (c) to remove it.
2. REMOVE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY (ELECTRO CHROMIC MIRROR INNER MIRROR) Remove the mirror cover. Disconnect the connector. Remove the mirror assy (Scheme 55)

1. SELECT COMPASS DISPLAY MODE The comp switch allows you to select the Display or Non-display mode of the compass.
2. SET ZONE Deviation between the "magnetic north" and "actual north" differs depending on the location. Therefore, adjustment of the magnetism is required. Since the magnetic condition differs depending on the area where the vehicle is used, it is necessary for each user to set the zone (Refer to Compass Zone Map). The zone setting can be changed using the comp switch of the inner mirror.
3. PERFORM CALIBRATION Because each vehicle has its own magnetic field, calibration should be performed for each vehicle. This compass function is used when storing the record of the vehicle's magnetic field.
4. WHEN COMPASS IS MAGNETIZED A compass could be magnetized during shipping by vessels or freight cars. Therefore, make sure to perform calibration and ensure that calibration is done properly before delivery. If it cannot be done (cannot be completed in spite of driving around several times), it may be caused by magnetization. Demagnetize the vehicle using a demagnetizer and perform calibration again.
5. SET COMPASS
6. ZONE SETTING MODE Pressing the comp switch for 3 seconds in the normal mode, will activate the zone setting mode. A number (1 - 15) is displayed on the compass display. NOTE: In the initial state, "8" is displayed. The displayed number increases +1 every time the comp switch is pressed. Referring to the map, check the number for the area where the vehicle will be used and set the zone number. Leave it untouched for several seconds after setting and check that the compass display shows an azimuthal direction (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W or NW) or "C".
7. CALIBRATION SETTING MODE Pressing the comp switch for 6 seconds in the normal mode, will also activate this mode. Drive the vehicle at a slow speed of 8 km/h (5 mph) or less in the circular direction. Driving around the circle 1 to 3 times will display the azimuthal direction on the display, completing the calibration. NOTE: After the calibration is completed, it is not necessary to perform the above procedures unless the magnetic field strength is drastically changed. If this happens, the azimuthal display will be changed to "C".

1. INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY Inspect operation of the electro chromic inner mirror. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 2. Attach black colored tape to the forward sensor to prevent it from sensing. Light up the mirror with an electric light, and check that the mirror surface changes from bright to dark. If the result is not as specified, replace the mirror assy.

1. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SERVICE HOLE COVER LH (See FRONT DOOR ) Remove the front door lower frame bracket garnish LH. Remove the front door inside handle bezel LH. Remove the front armrest assy LH. Remove the front door trim board LH. Remove the front door service hole cover LH.
2. REMOVE OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH Disconnect the connector. Remove the 3 nuts and mirror.
3. INSTALL OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSY LH Install the mirror with the 3 nuts. Torque: 8.0 N.m (82 kgf.cm, 71 in..lbf) Connect the connector.
