Installation

Install removed parts in reverse order of removal procedure.

After installation, adjust belt tension for specification and tighten each bolt and nut securely. See COOLING FAN BELT TENSION CHECK & ADJUSTMENT .

  1. Tightening torque Cooling fan / clutch nut (a): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lb-ft)

Note. Refill cooling system with proper coolant. See COOLANT DESCRIPTION and COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH & REFILL . After installation, check each joint for leakage.

Reverse removal procedures.

Note. Refill cooling system with proper coolant. See COOLANT DESCRIPTION and COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH & REFILL . Adjust cooling fan belt tension to specification. See COOLING FAN BELT TENSION CHECK & ADJUSTMENT . With A/T (Automatic Transmission) equipped vehicle, check A/T fluid level. See CHECKING FLUID LEVEL . After installation, check each joint for leakage.

Removal

  1. Drain cooling system.
  2. To remove these pipes or hoses, loosen screw on each pipe or hose clip and pull hose end off.

Install removed parts in reverse order of removal procedure, noting the following.

  1. Tighten each clamp bolt securely.
  2. When installing water outlet pipe (1) to cylinder head, apply sealant to pipe bolt thread and then tighten it. "A": Sealant 99000-31110 (SUZUKI BOND No. 1215)
  3. Refill cooling system with proper coolant. See «COOLANT DESCRIPTION»(ref-179488-S16566227272005070800000) and «COOLING SYSTEM FLUSH & REFILL»(ref-179488-S04241370222005070800000) .
  4. Check each part for leakage.
  1. Install belt to fan pulley and crankshaft pulley.
  2. Install cooling fan. See «COOLING FAN & FAN CLUTCH REMOVAL & INSTALLATION»(ref-179488-S12926631132005070800000) .
  3. Adjust belt tension as specified. See «COOLING FAN BELT TENSION CHECK & ADJUSTMENT»(ref-179488-S22260967872005070800000) .
  4. Tighten adjusting bolt and pivot bolt.
  5. Connect negative (-) cable at battery.
