Ignition Key Reminder

The ignition key reminder alerts the driver that the key is still in the ignition when the driver attempts to exit the vehicle.

An internal switch in the ignition lock cylinder supplies battery voltage to the reminder chime module when all of the following conditions are true

  1. The key is in the ignition switch.
  2. The ignition is OFF.
  3. The driver's door is open.

For information on removal and installation of the reminder chime module, refer to CHIME MODULE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

Key Interlock System

The ignition key can be removed when the vehicle stop and selector lever is in P position.

In R, N and D position the ignition key can not be rotated to ignition OFF.

After ignition ON, in R, N and D position the key interlock solenoid is operated with the key cylinder, so the key locked in the key cylinder.

Then, the key interlock solenoid is not operated in P position on selector lever.
