POWER WINDOW SWITCH

Note. Power window switch testing information for Impreza and SVX is not available from manufacturer.

Remove control switch from door panel. Using ohmmeter, check continuity of switch. For switch terminal identification (Scheme 3)and (Scheme 4). Replace appropriate switch as necessary if switch continuity is not as specified. (Scheme 5)and (Scheme 6).

1. Turn ignition on. Ensure fuse No. 10 is okay. Replace as needed. Ensure power window lock switch on main switch panel is in OFF position. Locate circuit breaker under passenger seat near reinforcing brace. Ensure battery voltage is present at breaker connection.
2. If voltage does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-35085-S16550737502001010900000) . Locate power window relay under passenger seat near reinforcing brace. Ensure battery voltage is present at selected harness connector terminals (White and Green/White wires). If voltage does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-35085-S16550737502001010900000) .
3. Using voltmeter, backprobe Red wire terminal. If battery voltage does not exist, replace relay. If battery voltage exists, ensure continuity exists between relay harness connector Black wire and vehicle ground.
4. Remove power window main switch. Using voltmeter, ensure voltage is present at harness connector Red wire. If voltage does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-35085-S16550737502001010900000) . If voltage exists, ensure continuity exists between switch harness connector Black wire and vehicle ground.
5. If continuity exists, replace power window main switch. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed.

1. Turn ignition on. Access malfunctioning motor. Disconnect harness connector. While depressing main window switch in UP position, check voltage at Blue wire terminal. If voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit as needed.
2. If voltage is present, check voltage at Red or Blue/Red wire terminal of harness connector while depressing main window switch in DOWN position. If voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit as needed. If voltage is present, replace motor.

1. Turn ignition on. Access control unit below passenger's seat. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between harness connector Black wire terminal and vehicle ground. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-35085-S16550737502001010900000). If continuity does exist, check if battery voltage is present at harness connector Blue and/or White/Red wire terminals.
2. If voltage is present, replace power window control unit. If voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit as needed. Turn ignition off. Remove power window main switch. Ensure continuity exists between switch harness connector Black wire terminal and vehicle ground.
3. If continuity does not exist, inspect and repair the circuit as needed. If continuity does exist, check switch operation. (Scheme 3)through (Scheme 6). Replace switch as required. If switch is functioning correctly, check voltage at control unit harness connector.
4. With ignition off, check if battery voltage is present at control unit harness connector Red wire terminal with ignition switch in OFF position. If voltage is not present, inspect and repair circuit as needed. See «WIRING DIAGRAMS»(ref-35085-S16550737502001010900000). If voltage is present, replace control unit.
