1 CHECK FUSE. Remove the ignition key from ignition switch. Check the fuse (M/B No. 10).Is the fuse OK?Go to step 2 .Replace the fuse. If the replaced fuse blows out easily, repair the short circuit in the harness between the fuse and body integrated unit.
2 CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT. Disconnect the connector from body integrated unit. Connect the resistor (100 W) between the body integrated unit connector terminal (i171) No. 26 and chassis ground.Does the security indicator light illuminate?Go to step 3 .Go to step 5 .
3 CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT GROUND CIRCUIT. Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit connector terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B280) No. 1 - Chassis ground: (B281) No. 31 - Chassis ground: (i84) No. 1 - Chassis ground: (i171) No. 29 - Chassis groundIs the resistance less than 10 ohms?Go to step 4 .Repair the open circuit of the body integrated unit ground circuit.
4 CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT. Measure the voltage between the body integrated unit connector terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B281) No. 7 (+) - Chassis ground (-): (i84) No. 6 (+) - Chassis ground (-)Is the voltage 10 V or more?Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT . Register all ignition keys (transponders). Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".Check the harness for open or short circuit between body integrated unit and fuse.
5 CHECK COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT. Remove the combination meter. Refer to COMBINATION METER . Measure the voltage between combination meter connector terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (i10) No. 20 (+) - Chassis ground (-)Is the voltage 10 V or more?Go to step 6 .Check for an open or short circuit in the harness between the combination meter and fuse.
6 CHECK COMBINATION METER CIRCUIT. Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit connector terminal and combination meter connector terminal. Connector & terminal (i171) No. 26 - (i10) No. 15Is the resistance less than 10 ohms?LED bulb is defective. Replace the combination meter case assembly. Refer to DISASSEMBLY .Repair the harness or connector.

1 CHECK POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT. Disconnect the connector from key warning switch. Measure the voltage between key warning switch connector terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B350) No. 3 (+) - Chassis ground (-)Is the voltage 10 V or more?Go to step 2 .Check the harness for an open or short between the key warning switch and fuse.
2 CHECK KEY WARNING SWITCH. Insert the ignition key in the ignition switch. (OFF or ACC) Measure the resistance between key warning switch connector terminals. Connector & terminal No. 3 - No. 4Is the resistance less than 1 ohms?Go to step 3 .Replace the key warning switch.
3 CHECK KEY WARNING SWITCH. Remove the ignition key from ignition switch. Measure the resistance between key warning switch connector terminals. Connector & terminal No. 3 - No. 4Is the resistance 1 Mohms or more?Go to step 4 .Replace the key warning switch.
4 CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN KEY WARNING SWITCH AND BODY INTEGRATED UNIT. Disconnect the connector from body integrated unit. Measure the resistance between key warning switch connector terminal and body integrated unit connector terminal. Connector & terminal (B350) No. 4 - (B280) No. 4Is the resistance less than 10 ohms?Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT . Register all ignition keys (transponders). Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".Repair the harness between key warning switch and body integrated unit.

1 CHECK ANTENNA CIRCUIT. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the connector from the antenna. Refer to IMMOBILIZER ANTENNA . Measure the resistance of antenna circuit. Connector & terminal (B415) No. 1 - No. 2Is the resistance 6 - 10 ohms?Go to step 2 .Replace the antenna. Refer to IMMOBILIZER ANTENNA .
2 CHECK ANTENNA CIRCUIT. Disconnect the connector from body integrated unit. Measure the resistance between body integrated unit connector and antenna connector. Connector & terminal (B281) No. 1 - (B415) No. 1: (B281) No. 2 - (B415) No. 2Is the resistance less than 10 ohms?Go to step 3 .Repair the harness.
3 CHECK ANTENNA CIRCUIT. Measure the resistance between body integrated unit connector and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B281) No. 1 - Chassis ground: (B281) No. 2 - Chassis groundIs the resistance 1 Mohms or more?Go to step 4 .Repair the harness.
4 CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT FUNCTION. Connect the connector to antenna. Connect the connector to body integrated unit. Insert the key into the ignition switch, then use an oscilloscope to measure changes in voltage between the antenna connectors. Connector & terminal (B281) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-)Is the maximum voltage more than 40 V? (Approx. 0.1 second after inserting the key) Is the voltage 0 V? (Approx. 1 second after inserting the key)Go to step 5 .Replace the body integrated unit Refer to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT . Register all ignition keys (transponders). Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
5 CHECK IGNITION KEY (TRANSPONDER). Remove the key from ignition switch. Start the engine using other key which is already registered.Does the engine start?Replace the ignition key (transponder). Execute the registration procedure next. Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".Replace the body integrated unit Refer to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT . Register all ignition keys (transponders). Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".

3 CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT GROUND CIRCUIT. Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit connector terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B280) No. 1 - Chassis ground: (B281) No. 31 - Chassis ground: (i84) No. 1 - Chassis ground: (i171) No. 29 - Chassis groundIs the resistance less than 10 ohms?Go to step 4 .Repair the open circuit of the body integrated unit ground circuit.
4 CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT FOR ECM. Measure the resistance between the ECM ground terminal and engine ground.Is the resistance less than 10 ohms?Go to step 5 .Repair the ECM ground circuit.
5 CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN BODY INTEGRATED UNIT AND ECM. Disconnect the connector from ECM. Measure the resistance between body integrated unit connector terminal and ECM connector terminal. Connector & terminal (B280) No. 31 - (B135) No. 25Is the resistance less than 10 ohms?Go to step 6 .Repair the open circuit of the harness between the body integrated unit and ECM.
6 CHECK COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT HARNESS. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Measure the voltage between the body integrated unit connector terminal and chassis ground. Connector & terminal (B280) No. 31 (+) - Chassis ground (-)Is the voltage 6 V or more?Repair the harness between body integrated unit and ECM.Go to step 7 .
7 CHECK COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT HARNESS. Measure the voltage between ECM connector terminal and engine ground. Connector & terminal (B135) No. 25 (+) - Engine ground (-)Is the voltage 6 V or more?Repair the harness between body integrated unit and ECM.Go to step 8 .
8 CHECK ECM BY COMMUNICATION LINE CHECK. Connect the connector to ECM only. Start the communication line short check. Refer to COMMUNICATION LINE CHECK .Is the communication line check OK?Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT . Register all ignition keys (transponders). Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".Replace the ECM. Refer to ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM) . Perform the registration procedure next. Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".

Connector & terminal (B415) No. 1 (+) - Chassis ground (-)Is the maximum voltage more than 40 V? (Approx. 0.1 second after inserting the key) Is the voltage 0 V? (Approx. 1 second after inserting the key)Go to step 2 .Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT . Register all ignition keys (transponders).
