REMOVAL

CAUTIONRefer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" before handling the airbag module. < Ref. to CAUTION , General Description. > When removing the clip, use great care not to damage the trim panel - roof assembly.

  1. Completely close the lid assembly - sunroof, and open the sunshade assembly.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work.
  3. Remove the trim panel - roof assembly. < Ref. to «REMOVAL»(ref-662136-S15840098952014101300000) , Roof Trim. >
  4. Disconnect the harness connector of the motor assembly.
  5. Remove the curtain airbag. < Ref. to «REMOVAL»(ref-662142-S24121618842014101300000) , Curtain Airbag Module. >
  6. Remove the rail assembly. Remove the drain tube - sunroof. Remove the bolts, and then remove the cover - sunroof. Remove the bolts, and then remove the bracket - sunroof. Remove the bolts, then remove the rail assembly.

INSTALLATION

CAUTIONBe careful not to snag the harness.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque

Refer to "COMPONENT" of "General Description". < Ref. to COMPONENT , General Description. >

Note. Be sure to connect the harness connector. When installing the drain tube - sunroof, insert it securely into drain pipe.

  1. Remove the screw and remove the sunroof motor.
  2. Remove the stopper rubber and pull out the sunshade assembly from the rail assembly - sunroof.
CAUTIONWhen installing the motor assembly - sunroof, be careful not to move the cable assembly. For installation of the stereo camera cover, refer to "INSTALLATION", "Stereo Camera Cover" in the "EyeSight" section and observe the precautions for installation. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Stereo Camera. >
  1. Install the motor assembly - sunroof.
  2. Install the light assembly - map. (Models without EyeSight)
  3. Install the stereo camera cover. (Models with EyeSight) < Ref. to «INSTALLATION»(ref-662158-S05437762082014101300000) , Stereo Camera. >
  4. Connect the battery ground terminal.
  5. Perform the initialize operation. < Ref. to «INITIALIZE OPERATION»(ref-662185-S20932577772014101300000) , OPERATION, Sunroof Control System. >
  6. Check the operation of sunroof by following the table below. Operation Switch position (1) Lid assembly - sunroof closes completely. Close (2) Lid assembly - sunroof opens 507 mm (19.96 in) away from completely closed position. Open (3) Lid assembly - sunroof opens completely. Open (4) Lid assembly - sunroof closes completely. Close
CAUTIONFor installation of the stereo camera cover, refer to "INSTALLATION", "Stereo Camera Cover" in the "EyeSight" section and observe the precautions for installation. < Ref. to INSTALLATION , Stereo Camera. >

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

Scheme 12: INSPECTION
  1. Remove the sunroof switch. < Ref. to «INSPECTION»(ref-662185-S20159287442014101300000) , Sunroof Switch. >
  2. Check the resistance between sunroof switch terminals. Preparation tool: Circuit tester Terminal No. Inspection conditions Standard Connector No. 1 - 3 Open Less than 1 ohms R128 4 - 3 Close Less than 1 ohms
  3. Replace the sunroof switch if the inspection result is not within the standard value.

  1. Completely close the lid assembly - sunroof, and open the sunshade assembly.
  2. Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work.

  4. Disconnect the harness connector of the motor assembly - sun roof.
  5. Remove the curtain airbag. < Ref. to «REMOVAL»(ref-662136-S15840098952014101300000) , Roof Trim. >
  6. Remove the rail assembly - sunroof. Remove the drain tube - sunroof. Remove the bolts, and then remove the cover - sunroof. Remove the bolts, and then remove the bracket - sunroof. Remove the bolt, and then remove the rail assembly - sunroof. CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the sunshade assembly.
  7. Remove the stopper rubber and pull out the sunshade assembly from the rail assembly - sunroof.

Install each part in the reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque

Scheme 13: MOVING LOAD OF SUNSHADE ASSEMBLY
  1. Attach a spring scale together with a cloth to the edge of sunshade assembly.
  2. Pull the spring scale to check the moving load of the sunshade assembly. Moving load of sunshade assembly: 9.8 - 25 N (1.00 - 2.55 kgf, 2.2 - 5.6 lbf) NOTE: Moving load is larger at the beginning of pulling a spring scale, so take a spring scale reading while the sunshade assembly is sliding smoothly.
  3. If the inspection result exceeds the standard, check the sunshade assembly or the rail assembly - sunroof for improper installation, and replace if necessary.
