Description Of Functions
- Details of key warning system If the driver's door is opened with the ignition key at ACC or lock position, the key warning buzzer sounds to alert the driver to the key left inserted.
Operation Check
- Function inspection Check that the key warning buzzer sounds. Insert a key in the ignition key cylinder with the driver's door closed and turn the key to the lock position or ACC. Check that the buzzer sounds periodically when the driver's door is opened. Check that the key warning buzzer stops sounding. Check that the buzzer stops sounding if the following operations are performed while the buzzer is sounding: Driver's door is closed. (Front door courtesy light switch is OFF) Turn IG SW to ON. Remove the key from the ignition key cylinder.
Current Data Display & Save / System Operation Check Mode
- Read data list CAUTION: The values indicated under the normal conditions in the table below are informative values. Do not depend on reference value only when judging if the part is faulty. NOTE: By using the SSM3 for reading the data list, it is able to read the values and the status of the switches, sensors, or actuators without removing these parts. This inspection is very useful because it allows an operator to read any intermittent conditions or signals without disturbing parts or wiring. By reading the current data display & save information at an initial phase of troubleshooting, you can save time for diagnosis. Turn IG SW to OFF. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3. Turn IG SW to ON. Turn on the SSM3. Enter the following menus. [Integ. unit mode] -->[Current Data Display & Save] Using SSM3, read the data list according to the screen displays. If the driver's door is opened while the ignition switch is set at the lock position or ACC, the key reminder warning buzzer sounds. When the main body ECM (multiplex network body computer) transmits a key switch signal and driver's courtesy light switch signal to the combination meter assembly, the key reminder warning buzzer operates.
