PROCEDURE

  1. CHECK FOR DTC Turn the ignition switch to ON. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511447-S37782841072012102600000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511423-S31219159542012102600000) . Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 10 seconds. Check for the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511447-S37782841072012102600000) . OK DTC B1795 is not output. HINT: Codes other than DTC B1795 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check. NG --> See step 2 OK --> See step 8
  2. PERFORM REGISTRATION BEFORE ECU EXCHANGE Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, save the ECU data from the ECU which was installed on the vehicle. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-511447-S38595346772012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  3. REPLACE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-511424-S09274030442012102600000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
  4. PERFORM REGISTRATION AFTER ECU EXCHANGE Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, load the previous ECU data stored in the tester into the new ECU. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-511447-S38595346772012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  5. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Using the Techstream, perform zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  6. CHECK FOR DTC HINT: Check that the zero point calibration is completed normally. If one of the following conditions is met, DTC B1797 will be output (refer to INITIALIZATION. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) ): Zero point calibration is performed when the conditions for the calibration are not satisfied. Zero point calibration has failed. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511447-S37782841072012102600000) . Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511423-S31219159542012102600000) . Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Check for the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511447-S37782841072012102600000) . OK DTC B1797 is not output. NG --> See step 9 OK: Go to next step
  7. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . NEXT --> END
  8. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-511447-S11740355652012102600000)
  9. GO TO DTC B1797. Refer to «DTC B1797: Calibration Malfunction»(ref-511449-S13465009042012102600000)

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SPECIFIED CONDITION FOR ZERO POINT CALIBRATION) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, read the "DATA LIST" or "Data List". Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-511447-S04363050762012102600000) .   6. REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION (OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR) Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat cushion (with occupant classification ECU and occupant detection sensor). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-511424-S25917569012012102600000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
  7. PERFORM REGISTRATION AFTER ECU EXCHANGE Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, load the previous ECU data stored in the tester into the new ECU. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-511447-S38595346772012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  8. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Using the Techstream, perform zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-511447-S37782841072012102600000) . HINT: If the DTCs are not cleared at this time, past DTCs will remain. NEXT: Go to next step
  9. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . NEXT --> END

  3. CHECK PASSENGER AIRBAG ON / OFF INDICATOR (PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK) Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator. Refer to «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-511447-S11740355652012102600000) . NG --> See step 4 OK --> END
  4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PASSENGER SIDE BUCKLE SWITCH) Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, read the "DATA LIST" or "Data List". Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-511447-S04363050762012102600000) . Read the display when the passenger side buckle switch is operated. OCCUPANT DETECTION: Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Specified Condition for Zero Point Calibration Diagnostic Note Passenger Buckle SW Buckle switch (Passenger side) / Set, Unset or NG Set: The seat belt is fastened Unset: The seat belt is not fastened NG: Data is not determined Unset - OK Tester display changes correctly in accordance with the operation of the buckle switch. NG --> See step 13 OK: Go to next step
  5. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR) Fasten the passenger side seat belt. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, read the value of the "DATA LIST" or "Data List". Refer to «DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST»(ref-511447-S04363050762012102600000) . OCCUPANT DETECTION: Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Specified Condition for Zero Point Calibration Diagnostic Note Filtered belt tension output Filtered belt tension output / Min.: 0, Max.: 255 39 to 229 39 to 64 (no load) - OK When there is no tension on belt, 39 to 229 is displayed on tester. NG --> See step 17 OK: Go to next step
  6. CHECK CONNECTOR Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and the occupant detection sensor. Check that the connectors (on the occupant classification ECU side and occupant detection sensor side) are not damaged. OK Connectors are not deformed or damaged. NG --> REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH OK: Go to next step
  7. PERFORM REGISTRATION BEFORE ECU EXCHANGE Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, save the ECU data from the ECU which was installed on the vehicle. Refer to «REGISTRATION»(ref-511447-S38595346772012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  8. REPLACE FRONT SEAT CUSHION Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds.   13. CHECK CONNECTOR Disconnect the connectors from the occupant classification ECU and front seat inner belt RH. Check that the connectors (on the occupant classification ECU side and front seat inner belt RH side) are not damaged. OK Connectors are not deformed or damaged. NG --> REPLACE FRONT SEAT WIRE RH OK: Go to next step
  14. REPLACE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat inner belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-511448-S39315870282012102600000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
  15. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, perform zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  16. PERFORM SENSITIVITY CHECK Perform the sensitivity check. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . NEXT --> END

  18. REPLACE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY RH (SEAT BELT TENSION SENSOR) Turn the ignition switch to OFF. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait for at least 90 seconds. Replace the front seat outer belt RH. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-511448-S32830013642012102600000) . Connect the negative (-) terminal cable to the battery. NEXT: Go to next step
  19. PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the ignition switch to ON. Using the Techstream, perform zero point calibration. Refer to «INITIALIZATION»(ref-511447-S21531454662012102600000) . NEXT: Go to next step
