LIN Communication System (Diagnostic Codes): Other Scion tC II

PROCEDURE

  1. CLEAR DTC Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  2. CHECK FOR DTC Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . OK DTC B2785 is not output. NG --> See step 3 OK --> See step 11
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU, ID CODE BOX AND STEERING LOCK ECU) Disconnect the C35 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector. Disconnect the C43 power source control ECU connector. Disconnect the C38 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector. Disconnect the C18 steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. Standard Resistance Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition C35-29 (LIN) - C43-24 (LIN2) Always Below 1 ohms C35-29 (LIN) - C38-3 (LIN1) Always Below 1 ohms C35-29 (LIN) - C18-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 ohms C35-29 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  4. CLEAR DTC Disconnect the C43 power source control ECU connector. Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  5. CHECK FOR DTC Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . OK DTC B2785 is not output. NG --> See step 12 OK: Go to next step
  6. CLEAR DTC Disconnect the C18 steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) connector. Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  7. CHECK FOR DTC Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . OK DTC B2785 is not output. NG --> See step 13 OK: Go to next step
  8. CLEAR DTC Disconnect the C38 ID code box (immobiliser code ECU) connector. Clear the DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . NEXT: Go to next step
  9. CHECK FOR DTC Check for DTCs. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-451229-S08386395662012020700000) . OK DTC B2785 is not output. NG --> See step 14 OK --> See step 10
  10. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S11677392442012020700000)
  11. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-451050-S39599463712012020700000)
  12. REPLACE POWER SOURCE CONTROL ECU. Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451224-S38850013962012020700000)
  13. REPLACE STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (STEERING LOCK ECU). Refer to «DISASSEMBLY»(ref-451194-S17610953872012020700000)
  14. REPLACE ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILISER CODE ECU). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-451232-S32596443462012020700000)
