REMOVAL

HINT

1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER LH Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the bracket cover. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
3. REMOVE SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER LH Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 claws and remove the cover. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
4. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the rearmost position. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the foremost position. Remove the 3 bolts on the rear side of the seat. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position. Disconnect the connectors under the seat. Then remove the front seat. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.

1. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY Place the seat in the cabin. Connect the connectors under the seat. Tighten the 5 bolts in the order indicated in the illustration. Torque: 40 N*m (408 kgf*cm, 30 ft.*lbf) NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
2. INSPECT AND ADJUST SEAT SLIDE ADJUSTER LOCKS Check that during sliding operation of the front seat, the left and right adjusters move together smoothly and lock simultaneously. If the adjusters do not lock simultaneously, loosen the seat fixation bolts to adjust the adjuster's positions.
3. INSTALL SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER OUTER LH Attach the 2 claws to install the bracket cover.
4. INSTALL SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER INNER LH Attach the 3 claws to install the bracket cover.
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION Perform initialization ( «INITIALIZATION»(ref-296226-S09190278172008082200000) ). NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT Check the SRS warning light ( «DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM»(ref-296258-S31681644242008082200000) ).

1. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY
2. REMOVE DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY Detach the seat cushion's 2 front hooks from the vehicle body. NOTE: Follow the instructions below carefully as the cushion frame deforms easily. Choose a hook to detach first. Place your hands near the hook as shown in the illustration. Then lift the seat cushion to detach the hook. Repeat for the other hook. Remove the inner belts through the slits on the seat cushion. Detach the seat cushion's 2 rear hooks from the seatback. Then remove the seat cushion.
4. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD ( «REMOVAL»(ref-296260-S33289777892008082200000) )
5. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR COVER Detach the 12 claws and remove the 3 anchor covers as shown in the illustration.
6. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR BRACKET Remove the 3 bolts and 3 anchor brackets.
7. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR BOARD ( «REMOVAL»(ref-296260-S33289777892008082200000) )
8. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY LH Fully fold the seatback forward. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seatback. Return the seatback to the upright position. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seatback. Then remove the seatback. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
9. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY RH Remove the bolt and rear seat outer belt floor anchor. Fully fold the seatback forward. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seatback. Return the seatback to the upright position. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seatback. Then remove the seatback. NOTE: Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.
10. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK Using a screwdriver, detach the claws and remove the 2 lock hooks. HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
11. REMOVE NO. 3 SEAT LEG SUB-ASSEMBLY Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips. Partially remove the floor carpet, and remove the 4 bolts and seat leg.
