1. INSPECT ABS WARNING LIGHT WHEN USING HAND-HELD TESTER: Connect the hand-held tester to the DLC3 and start the engine. Select the item "ABS WARN LIGHT" in the ACTIVE TEST and operate the ABS warning light by the hand-held tester. ABS WARNING LIGHT VEHICLE CONDITION/TEST DETAILS Item Vehicle Condition / Test Details Diagnostic Note ABS WARN LIGHT Turns ABS warning light ON / OFF Observe combination meter Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the ABS warning light can be shown on the combination meter by the hand-held tester. OK: The ABS warning light turns on or off in accordance with the hand-held tester. WHEN NOT USING HAND-HELD TESTER: Turn the ignition switch off and disconnect the connector from the skid control ECU. Ground terminal WA of the skid control ECU. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position. Check the ABS warning light. OK: ABS WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATION CONDITION WA - GND Condition Illumination Condition Connected OFF Disconnected ON NG: Go to step 2 OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE «REPLACEMENT»(ref-224778-S03147610642006031100000) )
2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SKID CONTROL ECU - COMBINATION METER) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector and combination meter connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table shown in «SKID CONTROL ECU SPECIFIED CONDITIONS»(ref-224755-S04199885002006031100000) . STANDARD: SKID CONTROL ECU SPECIFIED CONDITIONS Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-13 (WA) - C6-13 Below 1 ohm Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table shown in «COMBINATION METER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS»(ref-224755-S32635647872006031100000) . STANDARD: COMBINATION METER SPECIFIED CONDITIONS Tester Connection Specified Condition S1-13 (WA) - Body ground 10 kohm or higher NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step.
3. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSY Check combination meter assy (SEE «COMBINATION METER»(ref-224792-S16782977962006031100000) ). NG: CHECK COMBINATION METER ASSY (SEE «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-224758-S11241421582006031100000) ) OK: REPLACE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSY (SEE «REPLACEMENT»(ref-224778-S03147610642006031100000) )
