Object Detection System: Removal & Installation Saturn Astra I

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Open the service flap.
  3. Release the rear electronics module (REC). Disconnect the 7 wiring harness plugs (1). Remove the nut (2). Release the retaining lug.
  4. Remove the rear object alarm module (REC).
  5. Remove the object alarm module. Release the control unit (1). Disconnect the 2 wiring harness plugs (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the object alarm module.
  2. Insert the REC.
  3. Install the REC. Fasten the object alarm module. Tighten: Tighten the nut (2) to 7 N.m (62 lb in). Install the retaining lug. Connect the 9 wiring harness plugs.
  4. Close the service flap.
  5. Connect the battery.
  6. For reprogramming procedures, refer to «Control Module References»(ref-302291-S24032387652008102100000) .
  1. When replacing the control unit, before removing the control unit, carry out a "Reset" using the Tech 2. For reprogramming procedures, refer to «Control Module References»(ref-302291-S24032387652008102100000) .
  2. Disconnect the battery.
  3. Open the service flap.
  4. Disconnect the wiring harness plug for the rear electronics module (REC). Disconnect the 6 wiring harness plugs (1). Unlock and detach.
  5. Release the rear electronics module (REC). Remove the nut (arrow).
  6. Remove the REC. Release the object alarm module.
  7. Remove the object alarm module (2). Disconnect the 2 wiring harness plugs. Remove the object alarm module.
  1. Install the object alarm module. Insert the object alarm module. Connect the 2 wiring harness plugs.
  2. Insert the REC. Install the object alarm module.
  3. Connect the REC. Tighten: Tighten the nut to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
  4. Connect the wiring harness plug for the rear electronics module (REC). Connect the 6 wiring harness plugs.
  5. Close the service flap.
  6. Connect the battery.
  7. For reprogramming procedures, refer to «Control Module References»(ref-302291-S24032387652008102100000) .
  1. Disconnect the battery.
  2. Lower the headlining. Refer to «Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan)»(ref-302289-S07066681012008102100000) or «Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (with Sunroof)»(ref-302289-S19339556022008102100000) or «Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)»(ref-302289-S27426383252008102100000) .
  3. Remove the object alarm speaker. Disconnect the wiring harness plug (1). Remove the speaker (2) from the headlining.
  1. Install the object alarm speaker. Install the speaker to the headlining. Connect the wiring harness plug.
  2. Install the headlining. Refer to «Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Sedan)»(ref-302289-S07066681012008102100000) or «Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (with Sunroof)»(ref-302289-S19339556022008102100000) or «Headlining Trim Panel Replacement (Coupe)»(ref-302289-S27426383252008102100000) .
  3. Connect the battery.
  4. For reprogramming procedures, refer to «Control Module References»(ref-302291-S24032387652008102100000) .
