  1. Remove the wiper arm.
  2. Remove the window cover plates.
  3. Remove the frame around the inner lock handle.
  4. Remove the inner tailgate trim by undoing the screws securing the door pull and the plastic clips in the trim.
  5. Pull down the top of the trim so that it comes away from the clips and then pull it backwards to release the clip by the door pull.
  6. Unplug the connector.
  7. Remove the three retaining screws.
  8. Detach the washer hose.
  9. Take out the wiper motor.
  10. Remove the motor from the bracket.

  1. Fit the motor to the bracket.
  2. Fit the wiper motor and tighten the screws.
  3. Plug in the connector and attach the washer hose.
  4. Fit the wiper arm. The mark on the rubber seal should be pointing left.
  5. Check the function, wiper parking position and washer operation.
  6. Fit the inner trim by inserting the clip by the door pull and fasten to the clips. Screw in the two screws in the door pull.
  7. Fit the frame around the inner handle.
  8. Fit the window cover plates.

  1. Remove the direction indicator and headlamp, see «MAIN LIGHTING»(ref-212222-S28680571302005122200000) and «DIRECTION INDICATORS»(ref-212222-S34961348982005122200000) .
  2. Unplug the connector and loosen it from the bodywork.
  3. Disconnect the washer hose from the wiper arm.
  4. Remove the wiper arm and blade from the motor.
  5. Remove the wiper motor retaining screws.
  6. Lift away the motor.

  1. Place the wiper motor in position and fit the retaining screws.
  2. Plug in the connector and fasten it to the bodywork.
  3. Fit the wiper arm and blade to the motor.
  4. Connect the washer hose to the wiper arm.
  5. Fit the direction indicator and headlamp, see «MAIN LIGHTING»(ref-212222-S28680571302005122200000) and «DIRECTION INDICATORS»(ref-212222-S34961348982005122200000) .

  1. Put the steering wheel in its outermost position.
  2. Remove the steering column bearing bracket cowls (3 screws).
  3. Pull out the switch, 2 clips (it is fitted into a groove).
  4. Unplug the switch's electrical connection.

  1. Plug in the switch's electrical connection.
  2. Fit the switch.
  3. Fit the steering column bearing bracket cowls.
  4. Adjust the steering wheel to its original position.

  1. Drain the washer fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Raise the car.
  3. Remove the two retaining screws on the front of the wing liner.
  4. Pull out the two pumps and the level sensor from the reservoir and let them hang by their hoses and leads.
  5. Remove the 3 reservoir retaining screws and pull the washer fluid reservoir straight down.

  1. Place the reservoir in its correct position and fit the retaining screws.
  2. Fit the pumps.
  3. Fit the level sensor with its float pointing downwards.
  4. Fit the wing liner with the two retaining screws.
  5. Lower the car.
  6. Fill the reservoir with washer fluid.

  1. Drain the washer fluid reservoir.
  2. Raise the car. Remove the wing liner (2 screws).
  3. Disconnect the hose at the pump and pull up the pump to remove it from the washer fluid reservoir.
  4. Unplug the connector.

  1. Plug in the connector.
  2. Connect the hoses to the pump and press down the pump into the washer fluid reservoir.
  3. Fit the wing liner (2 screws). Lower the car.
  4. Fill with washer fluid.

  1. Insert the removal tool (tool no. «82 93 474 REMOVAL TOOL»(ref-212225-S12908132472005122200000) ) from below on one side between the windscreen and the cover. Detach the cover by pushing the tool up along the side of the cover and at the same time pressing the cover towards the headlining.
  2. Repeat on the other side and remove the cover.
  3. Press out the ends of the clamps from the retainers on the windscreen bracket. It helps if you press the sensor towards the windscreen. Bend out the clamps and remove the sensor from the bracket. NOTE: Take care when releasing the clamps so as not to scratch the windscreen.
  4. Unplug the connector from the rain sensor.

Scheme 52: To fit
  1. Clean the windscreen where the rain sensor is to be placed.
  2. Plug in the connector on the rain sensor.
  3. Place the rain sensor in its bracket on the windscreen. Press the sensor towards the windscreen and snap the clamps into place one at a time. Change the clamps if they are defective, see «CHANGING THE CLAMPS»(ref-212225-S34965110252005122200000) . NOTE: Check that the clamps are correctly secured in the grooves and that the sensor makes good contact with the windscreen.
  4. Position the lower edge of the rain sensor cover. Press the cover home onto the windscreen bracket.
  5. Check that the rain sensor works.
