Windshield Garnish Molding Replacement

Component Procedure
Windshield Garnish Molding Assembly Procedure Starting at the top, gently pull on the garnish molding to disengage the clip. Tab must be installed prior to retainer clip. Tab to be fully seated in instrument panel trim panel retainer and valance panel. Disconnect the electrical connector. Transfer all necessary components. The tether clip at the upper portion of the garnish molding MUST be replaced every time the windshield garnish molding is removed.

Scheme 1: Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Disable the roof rail SIR system. Refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING . Remove the seat belt tensioner fastener and feed seat belt through center pillar upper trim panel. Refer to DRIVER OR PASSENGER SEAT RETRACTOR SIDE BELT REPLACEMENT . Remove the center pillar lower trip panel. Refer to CENTER PILLAR LOWER TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT .

2Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Fastener Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER .
3Center Pillar Upper Trim Panel Assembly Procedure Pull the trim panel toward the inside of the vehicle to disengage the retainers.
4Center Pillar Upper Trim Clip (Qty: 2)

Scheme 2: Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the body hinge pillar trim panel. Refer to BODY HINGE PILLAR TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT .
1Center Pillar Lower Trim Panel Assembly Procedure Grasp both sides and pull out toward the inside of the vehicle to release the 2 push pins on the backside.
2Center Pillar Lower Trim Procedure Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

Scheme 3: Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR DISABLING AND ENABLING . Remove the body side trim panel. Refer to BODY SIDE TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove the rear seat lower anchor plate bolt on the side of the trim panel being replaced. Refer to REAR SEAT RETRACTOR SIDE BELT REPLACEMENT .
1Quarter Upper Trim Panel Fastener Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER .
2Quarter Upper Trim Panel Assembly Procedure Loosen the rear compartment opening weather-strip. Route the seat belt through trim panel. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Scheme 4: Body Side Trim Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Move the rear seat to the full forward position. Remove the load floor panel rear extension panel. Refer to LOAD FLOOR PANEL REAR EXTENSION PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove the rear compartment floor stowage compartment cover. Refer to REAR COMPARTMENT FLOOR STOWAGE COMPARTMENT COVER REPLACEMENT . Reposition the center pillar lower trim panel to allow body side trim to pass. Refer to CENTER PILLAR LOWER TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT .
1Cargo Tie Down Loop Bezel
2Trim Panel Assembly Procedure Pull outward to disengage the trim panel retainers. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Scheme 5: Rear End Trim Finish Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the rear compartment floor panel rail. Refer to REAR COMPARTMENT FLOOR PANEL RAIL REPLACEMENT .
1Rear End Trim Finish Panel Fastener (Qty: 2) Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Procedure Lift the storage compartment lid. Remove the foam over the spare tire, if equipped. Use a flat-bladed plastic trim tool in order to release the clips and remove the sill plate.

Scheme 6: Load Floor Panel Rear Extension Panel Replacement

1Load Floor Panel Rear Extension Panel Assembly Procedure Pull upward to disengage the integral clips and integral hook and loop fasteners from the rear compartment floor stowage compartment assembly.

1Rear Compartment Floor Stowage Compartment Cover Assembly Procedure Pull upward to disengage the integral hook and loop fasteners from the rear compartment floor stowage compartment assembly.

Preliminary Procedures Remove the rear end trim finish panel. Refer to REAR END TRIM FINISH PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove the rear compartment floor stowage compartment cover. Refer to REAR COMPARTMENT FLOOR STOWAGE COMPARTMENT COVER REPLACEMENT . Remove rear compartment floor stowage compartment divider. Refer to REAR COMPARTMENT FLOOR STOWAGE COMPARTMENT DIVIDER REPLACEMENT . Remove the load floor panel rear extension panel. Refer to LOAD FLOOR PANEL REAR EXTENSION PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove the rear compartment floor panel rail. Refer to REAR COMPARTMENT FLOOR PANEL RAIL REPLACEMENT . Remove left body side trim panel. Refer to BODY SIDE TRIM PANEL REPLACEMENT .

Preliminary Procedures Remove the rear side door inside handle applique. Refer to REAR SIDE DOOR INSIDE HANDLE APPLIQUE REPLACEMENT .

3Rear Side Door Pull Handle Fastener (Qty: 2) Tighten 9 Nm (80 lb in)
4Rear Side Door Trim Assembly Procedure Use the appropriate plastic trim tool to aid in the removal of the door trim. Pull upwards on the door lock retainer cable to disengage. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Scheme 13: Liftgate Upper Trim Finish Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the liftgate lower trim panel. Refer to LIFTGATE LOWER TRIM FINISH PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove upper and lower together. Separate after removel, if necessary. Pull outward to disengage the trim panel retainers.

Scheme 14: Liftgate Lower Trim Finish Panel Replacement

Preliminary Procedures Remove the liftgate upper trim panel. Refer to LIFTGATE UPPER TRIM FINISH PANEL REPLACEMENT . Remove upper and lower together. Separate after removal, if necessary. Pull outward to disengage the trim panel retainers.
1Liftgate Lower Trim Finish Panel Fastener Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER .
2Liftgate Lower Trim Finish Panel Assembly Procedure Use a trim panel removal tool to aid in the removal of the trim panel from the liftgate assembly. Disconnect the electrical connector, if equipped.

1Cargo Tie Down Loop Fastener Refer to CAUTION: RETAINER . Procedure Remove the cargo tie down loop bezel to access the fastener. Tighten 50 Nm (37 lb ft)

Preliminary Procedures Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to REAR BUMPER FASCIA REPLACEMENT . Reposition any wiring to gain access to pressure relief valve.
