Frame and Bumpers: Removal & Installation RAM Cab & Chassis 3500 HD

INSTALLATION

1. Position the bumper (1) onto the vehicle and line up the pins on the sides.
2. Install the bolts (3 and 4).
3. Tighten the bolts (3) to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
4. Tighten the bolts (4) to 54 N.m (40 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the electrical connectors (2).

1. Remove the push pins (3) and position the wheelhouse splash shield (2) aside. NOTE: Sport fascia shown in illustration, upper fascia similar.
2. Remove the fender screws (1).
3. Remove the grille. Refer to «GRILLE, REMOVAL»(ref-476497-S38673366262012060400000) .
4. Using trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, separate the upper clips and remove the fascia (4).

1. Remove the push pins (3) and position aside the wheelhouse splash shields (2).
2. Remove the screws (1) and separate the fascia (3) from the fender (2).
3. Remove the four lower fasteners (2).
4. Remove the grille. Refer to «GRILLE, REMOVAL»(ref-476497-S38673366262012060400000) .
5. Using trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, separate the upper clips and remove the fascia (4).

1500 Light Duty

1. Install the crossmember (3).
2. Install the bolts (1) and nuts (2). Tighten the nuts to 102 N.m (75 ft. lbs.).

2500 Heavy Duty 4X2

1. Install the crossmember (3).
2. Install the bolts (1) and nuts (2). Tighten the nuts to 64 N.m (47 ft. lbs.).

1. Install the front skid plate, if equipped (2). Refer to «PLATE, SKID, FRONT, INSTALLATION»(ref-476503-S00663536372012060400000) .

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-476495-S23938607452012060400000) .
2. Remove the transfer case skid plate (4) and crossmember (2), if equipped. Refer to «PLATE, SKID, TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL»(ref-476503-S37395847282012060400000) .
3. Remove the nuts (3) fastening the transmission mount (1) to the transmission crossmember (2).
4. Support the transmission with a transmission jack or suitable lifting device.
5. Remove the four bolts (1) and remove the transmission crossmember (2).

1. Remove the transfer case skid plate (2), if equipped. Refer to «PLATE, SKID, TRANSFER CASE, REMOVAL»(ref-476503-S37395847282012060400000) .
2. Remove the nuts (3) fastening the transmission mount (1) to the transmission crossmember (2).
3. Support the transmission with a transmission jack or suitable lifting device.
4. Remove the four bolts (1) and nuts (3) and remove the transmission crossmember (2).

REMOVAL

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to «HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-476495-S23938607452012060400000) .
2. Remove the bolts (3).
3. Remove the skid plate (2).

1. Position the skid plate (2) onto the vehicle and line up the holes.
2. Install the bolts (3) and tighten to 18 N.m (13 ft. lbs.).
