1. Move bonnet to service position using bonnet stay P 9704 .
2. Disconnect battery. --> 90 IN WORK INSTRUCTIONS AFTER DISCONNECTING THE BATTERY - AS OF MY 2003 (ALL MODELS EXCEPT CAYENNE S TIO TITAN) .
3. Put on the protection covers.

4. Pull the design cover up and off.
5. Remove engine compartment front covers. Refer to 70 02 19 Removing and installing front cover (engine compartment) - as of MY 2003 (All Models) .

6. Remove connecting tube from air cleaner to engine. To do this, loosen the hose clamp on the engine, unplug the electric connector on the hot-film mass air flow meter and remove the two fastening pins on the air cleaner cover -arrows-. (Scheme 69)

7. Remove vacuum line on throttle housing from connecting tube -arrow-. Then take the intake manifold out of the engine compartment. (Scheme 70)

1. Pull off cable plug on the throttle housing and pull cable out of the clip -arrows-. (Scheme 72)

2. Loosen the four screws on the throttle housing -arrows-. Remove throttle housing and check condition of sealing ring. Replace sealing ring if necessary. (Scheme 73)
