Installing double sealing ring
1. Check seat of sealing ring in transmission housing for damage.
2. Thinly coat outer circumference and sealing lips of sealing ring with Vaseline.

3. Push double sealing ring on so that the projecting sealing lip is pointing towards the pressure piece 3383 .

4. Drive double sealing ring into the transmission housing up to the stop with pressure piece 3383 .

2. Top up oil for final drive and perform all assembly work described. > 399055 Changing oil for final drive
3. Retaining device P 9624/1 must then be removed from cross member.
4. Fit restraining cables to cross member.

6. Install right wheel. Refer to 44 05 19 Removing and installing wheel - as of MY 2005 (All Models) .
7. Lower the vehicle.
