Installing headliner

Note. Two persons are needed to remove and install the headliner!
1. Guide headliner -1- into the vehicle through tailgate opening and position at roof frame. (Scheme 229)

2. Clip in fixing clip -2- in the bodyshell in the rear area and press in Velcro fasteners -3-. (Scheme 230)
Note. Pull wire harness for interior light and operator control unit for garage door opener through the openings of the headliner.
3. Clip clamps -1- in the bodyshell in the front area. (Scheme 230)

4. Press in pivot bearing -6- until it clicks into place -arrow A- and tighten with fastening screw -5-. Tightening torque --> Tightening torque: 5 (3.5 ftlb.) Nm +0.5 (0.5 ftlb.) Nm (Scheme 231)
5. Press in cover for pivot bearing -4- -arrow B-. (Scheme 231)
6. Position mounting saddle -3- at the top on the roof liner -arrow C- and secure using the fastening screw -2-. Tightening torque --> Tightening torque: 2.5 (2 ftlb.) Nm +0.5 (0.5 ftlb.) Nm (Scheme 231)
7. Press in cap -1- on mounting saddle -arrow D-. (Scheme 231)
1. Install operator control unit for garage door opener. Refer to 96 78 19 Removing and installing control unit for garage door opener - as of MY 2005 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
2. Install interior light. Refer to 96 22 19 Removing and installing bulb for interior light - as of MY 2005 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
3. Install C-pillar trim panel. > 706819 Removing and installing C-pillar trim - chapter on "Installing"
Install A-pillar trim panel. > 705719 Removing and installing A-pillar trim - chapter on "Installing"
