Removing PASM control unit

1. Pull carpet on right-hand side to the side.

2. Unscrew the two fastening nuts -1- and remove the cover -2-. (Scheme 2)

3. Unclip control unit from the support and pull it out and down.

4. Release -A- and pull off electric connector. (Scheme 3)

Installing PASM control unit

1. Connect the electric plug connection until the plug clicks into place.

2. Push in control unit into the support and clip it in.

3. Fit cover -2- and secure with the two fastening nuts -1-. (Scheme 5)

4. Stick on carpet at side again onto cover.

Reading out and writing values for PASM control unit

Note. During coding, there should be a guaranteed power supply for the PIWIS tester P 9718 . It is essential to connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 40 A to the vehicle battery. 9. Switch to the Special functions menu and perform the vehicle handover using the F8 key.

10. In the Special functions menu, erase All fault memories by pressing >>.

11. Switch on ignition. Once the control unit has been replaced, the vehicle data is uploaded under the Write in data menu (see Section 7). Press >>.

12. PIWIS tester displays Coding write-in complete >>.

13. Carry out a test drive and read out fault memory.
