Reworking
1. Install center console. Refer to 68 17 19 Removing and installing center console - as of MY 2005 (All Models) .
2. Install selector knob. > 370419 Removing and installing selector knob - chapter on "Installing"
1. Raise the vehicle at the prescribed jacking points. Refer to 40 Tightening torques for front axle - as of MY 2005 (All Models) .
2. Remove support plate. Refer to 42 14 19 Removing and installing support plate - as of MY 2005 (All Models) .
3. Remove rear wall cover. Refer to 55 59 19 Removing and installing rear wall cover - as of MY 2005 (All Models) .
4. Remove engine-compartment lid. Refer to 55 78 19 Removing and installing engine compartment lid - as of MY 2005 (Boxster, Boxster RHD, Boxster S, Boxster S RHD) . Refer to 55 78 19 Removing and installing engine compartment lid - as of MY 2005 (Cayman S, Cayman S RHD) .
5. Remove selector knob. > 370419 Removing and installing selector knob - section on "Removing"
6. Remove center console. Refer to 68 17 19 Removing and installing center console - as of MY 2005 (All Models) .

1. Lever selector cable off the ball pin and disengage from support bracket.
