10 Minute Learn Procedure
- Turn ignition switch to RUN position, engine OFF.
- Attempt to start the engine, then release the key to ON (vehicle will not start).
- Observe the SECURITY telltale, after approximately 10 minutes the telltale will turn OFF.
- Turn OFF the ignition, and wait 5 seconds.
- The vehicle is now ready to relearn the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or passwords on the next ignition switch transition from OFF to CRANK.
- Start the engine. The vehicle has now learned the Passlock™ Sensor Data Code and/or password.
- Using a scan tool, clear any DTCs if needed. History DTCs will self clear after 100 ignition cycles.
Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located on the right front of engine, above starter.
- Disconnect the battery.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove the front air deflector, if applicable.
- Remove the starter.
- Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor harness connector.
- Remove the CKP sensor bolt and CKP sensor. (Scheme 33)
Scheme 33
- Check the CKP sensor "O" ring and lubricate with a mineral based grease.
- Carefully insert the CKP sensor into the block. (Scheme 33)
- Install the CKP sensor bolt. Tighten the CKP sensor bolt to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-153402-S15109679952003040400000).
- Reconnect the CKP sensor harness connector.
- Reinstall the starter.
- Reinstall the front air deflector, if applicable.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-153402-S15109679952003040400000).
- Perform the CKP system Variation Learn Procedure. See «CKP SYSTEM VARIATION LEARN PROCEDURE»(ref-153402-S37836965312003090300000).
