Power Steering Pump Replace (Without Air Conditioning) Opel Vivaro A

Remove

  1. 1. Disconnect battery negative lead
  2. 2. Raise vehicle
  3. 3. Remove engine and transmission undershield from vehicle
  4. 4. Remove right splash panel • Release washer hose (if installed) from 2x clip • Remove 2x bolt , screw
  1. 5. Remove ribbed V-belt from engine • Rotate tension roller clockwise, then lock using Locating Pin KM-6130 (1)
  1. 6. Release feed hose from power steering pump • Install hose clamp (1) • Release clip (2)
  1. 7. Remove pump pulley (2) from power steering pump • Remove 3x bolt (1) from pump pulley – Prevent pump shaft from turning using suitable tool (3) inserted into hexagonal opening
  1. 8. Remove pressure pipe from power steering pump • Disconnect pressure pipe union (1) from power steering pump • Install 2x blanking plug
  1. 9. Remove power steering pump from auxiliary housing • Remove 2x bolt (1), bolt (2)
  1. 10. Install power steering pump (1) to Press Plate KM-6281-1 (3) • Release pump hub (2) from shaft using hydraulic press (4)

Install

  1. 11. Install pump hub (2) to new pump (1) shaft using KM-6281-3 (3)
  1. 12. Check installation height of hub using KM-6281-4 (2)
  1. 13. Install new power steering pump to auxiliary housing • Secure 2x bolt (1), bolt (2) 21 Nm
  1. 14. Secure feed hose to power steering pump • Remove blanking plug from inlet of power steering pump • Secure clip (2) • Remove hose clamp (1)
  1. 15. Install pump pulley (2) to power steering pump • Secure 3x bolt (1) 10 Nm – Prevent pump shaft from turning using suitable tool (3) inserted into hexagonal opening
  1. 16. Install ribbed V-belt to engine • Rotate tension roller clockwise, then remove Locating Pin KM-6130 (1)
  1. 17. Install right splash panel • Install 2x bolt 8 Nm , screw 6 Nm • Secure washer hose (if installed) to 2x clip
  1. 18. Install engine and transmission undershield to vehicle
  2. 19. Lower vehicle
  3. 20. Connect battery negative lead
  4. 21. Bleed hydraulic system – see operation “Hydraulic System, Bleed”
  5. 22. Program all volatile memories
