Complaint:Communication issues, loss of various instrument control lights and speed signal failure can all occur. The condition is often temporarily rectified by pressing on the connection.
Cause:Poor electrical contact made at the green X64 multiplug (I.P harness to instrument assembly). The female terminals within the plug make poor contact with the instrument assembly caused by an increased gap.
Production:Reworked by production from W0LJ7BJA67V629400 (01.02.07)

Remedy:

In case of customer complaint the X64 harness plug (which locates in postion 1 shown) will need reworking. Pull off the front cover of the plug to gain access to the terminals inside. Carefully close the terminal gaps of the affected circuit with a suitable tool to provide a better contact with the instrument assembly. The whole connection does not need to be reworked, only the terminals of the circuits that are affected. It will be necessary to check against the TIS wiring diagrams for this information.

A replacement harness is not necessary. Care should be taken to only disturb the minimum amount of terminals in the plug and a suitable choice of tool to perform the repair should always be observed.

Electrical terminal grease can be applied to the joint.
