| Cause: | Trouble code C0710(A) "Steering Angel Sensor, initializing during driving" is set in the ESP-ECU. |
| Production: | As of VIN W0L0XCE75A3141565 and W0L0XCE75A4131705 a modified steering angle sensor has been installed in production. |
Remedy:
In case of customer complaint before replacing the steering angle sensor, the following has to be checked:
1. Is the charge condition of the vehicle battery sufficient? (starting problems)
2. Was the vehicle battery discharged? (was the vehicle started by a battery jump cable)
If one of the two points are applicable, the steering angle sensor needs to be calibrated by Tech 2. Replacement of the sensor is not necessary.
If the calibration is impossible or not successful replace the steering angle sensor.
Use the new generation of steering angle sensors:
- For vehicles w/o steering wheel radio operation partno.: 13337297 / catalogueno.: 1 99 291 - For vehicles with steering wheel radio operation partno.: 13337298 / catalogueno.: 1 99 290
Note: Do not replace the steering column.
