Steering Column
The CD models are fitted with a height adjustable steering column. The steering column tube which is bolted to the steering system cross–beam is made from magnesium to reduce weight.
A steel cable between the steering column and the underbody of the vehicle and a telescopic intermediate shaft reduce to a minimum the intrusion of the steering wheel into the passenger compartment in the event of a crash.
