Auxiliary Heater - Sintra
In the Sintra with the X 22 DTH engine, the auxiliary heater is standard equipment. It is installed on the rear of the cylinder block, between the coolant flange, above the alternator and the heating radiator. It consists of an aluminium pipe with 4 heater elements (250 W each) and an auxiliary coolant temperature sensor integrated.
Function:
At ambient temperatures below 8 C/46 F, a coolant temperature of lower than 80 C/176 F and when the engine is running, the auxiliary heater switches on automatically. If the preheater system is active at this time, only 2 heater elements are actuated. When the preheater system is deactivated, a further 2 heater elements are actuated to provide the full heating output.
The X 22 DTH engine is equipped with a 160 A alternator to meet the increased power requirements.
