Controls
The controls for the heating and ventilation are easily accessible for both driver and co - driver, positioned in the centre of the instrument panel. The functions are controlled by rotary knobs. The selected adjustment can be easily recognized, even at night, as the knobs and the adjustment systems illuminate when the ignition is switched on.

Controls
The ratio of fresh and heated air is continuously regulated by the temperature switches. Each switch controls the two mixed air valves with one Bowden cable.
If cool air is desired, the mixed air valve closes and fresh air is diverted past the heater core. When the mixed air valve is open, the air flows over the plates in the heater core and is heated.
The air distribution control knob opens and closes the defrosting valves and footwell valves by vacuum pressure.
The recirculating air switch actuates an electromagnetic valve. This applies vacuum to the vacuum unit of the recirculating air valve and closes the valve.
This use of vacuum has several advantages. There are no friction problems as with the use of Bowden cables. Vacuum hoses can be routed in tighter radii, thus reducing the amount of space required. The force required for operating the controls is lower.
