Both Cables, Basic Adjustment
Basic adjustment of both cables is necessary with replacement of electro-drive unit.
Remove moulded headlining - see operation "Moulded Headlining, Remove and Install or Replace". Remove shell - see operation "Shell, Replace". Remove electro-drive unit - see operation "Electro-drive Unit, Replace".
Basic adjustment of electro-drive unit - see operation "Electro-drive Unit, Basic Adjustment". Loosen fastening bolts for detent block, front (2), and sliding block, rear (1).
Push front guide pins and rear guide pins in centre of markings in lower guide rail.
Install electro-drive unit - see operation "Electro-drive Unit, Replace". Move carrier plate in "closed" position. Push drill bit with diameter A = 4 mm/0.16 in. with shank through loosened sliding block in rear guide. Tighten sliding block - 4.5 Nm / 3 lbf. ft.
Remove drill from sliding block.
Press front guide (1) to rear and tighten detent block (2) centred under lug - 4.5 Nm / 3 lbf. ft.
Carry out function check.
After functioning check, the markings may be offset. Re-adjustment is not required!
Install shell - see operation "Shell, Replace". Install moulded headlining - see operation "Moulded Headlining, Remove and Install or Replace".
