Basic Instrument Assembly

Condition:
As of February 1994, a new instrument assembly will gradually be introduced in addition to the previous basic instrument assembly (not including tachometer and Joy versions).
Individual components of the new and previous instrument assemblies are not interchangeable.
This TI bulletin describes operations regarding the "new" version which deviate from previously published operations.

Operation:
Speedometer, Replace
Remove:
Remove instrument assembly as specified in Service Instructions.
| In addition, carefully disconnect 3 - pin plug (pos. 1) with small flat nose pliers and loosen both fastening bolts (pos. 2) using Torx screwdriver (TX - 20). | |||

Install:
Install instrument assembly as specified in Service Instructions.
| Use parts included in supplied set. |
Temperature / Tank Display, Replace
Remove:
Unscrew 4 nuts (previously 2 nuts) for relevant gauge from instrument assembly printed circuit board.
Install:
Fasten instrument with new spring washers and nuts (Æ = 3 mm / 0.12 in. ) included in supplied set (torque = 0.5 Nm / 0.4 Ibf. ft. ).
Printed Circuit Board, Replace
Remove:
Disconnect 3 - pin plug (odometer).
Remove temperature and tank displays.
Note which telltale lamps (positions on printed circuit board) are fitted. Remove telltale lamps together with sockets.
Remove flexible printed circuit board from fastening pins on instrument casing.
Install:
First push printed circuit board into the protective aperture in the casing (illustration E 9966, pos. 3), then press circuit board onto fastening pins.
Fasten temperature and tank displays.
Insert telltale lamps together with sockets.
Connect 3 - pin plug (odometer).
