ABS 5.3

Function Features

The new ABS - 5.3 in the Corsa - B and Tigra is a 4 - channel system with diagonally split brake circuits. The hydraulic modulator and the ABS control unit make up one unit.

The ABS - 5.3 has self - diagnosis capability and thus allows system diagnosis using the TECH 1A Diagnosis Tester. It also utilises a monitoring function, which can even perform a self - test of the solenoid valves and pump motor when the vehicle is at a standstill. If a fault is recognised, the ABS system is switched off and the ABS telltale is actuated. The relevant trouble code is stored and can be read out via TECH 1A.

Note:

If the ABS system malfunctions, the preset split distribution of braking force between the front and rear axles guarantees that the conventional brake system continues operation.
