Note. DTCs U2006 and U2007 must be diagnosed before DTC U2002.
- If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, go to «BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK»(ref-32837-S31507406202001101500000) .
- Disconnect instrument cluster. See «INSTRUMENT PANEL»(ref-32951) article. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, establish communications with BFC. Using DVOM, check voltage by backprobing between instrument cluster harness connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. If battery voltage exists, go to next step. If battery voltage does not exist, go to step 7).
- Using scan tool, check SPI data input. If SPI data input is HIGH, go to next step. If SPI data input is not HIGH, go to step 11).
- Check for a poor connection at instrument cluster harness connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 6).
- Repair poor connection at instrument cluster harness connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire). Go to step 14).
- Replace instrument cluster. See «INSTRUMENT PANEL»(ref-32951) article. Go to step 14).
- Disconnect BFC 24-pin Gray connector C2. Using DVOM, check resistance between BFC harness connector C2, terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire) and instrument cluster harness connector terminal A2 (Light Blue/Black wire). If resistance is 0-2 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is not 0-2 ohms, go to step 9).
- Check resistance between BFC harness connector C2, terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire) and ground. If resistance is not infinite, go to step 11). If resistance is infinite, go to step 10).
- Repair open in Light Blue/Black wire between BFC connector C2 and instrument cluster. Go to step 14).
- Repair short to ground in Light Blue/Black wire between BFC connector C2 and instrument cluster. Go to step 14).
- Check for a poor connection at BFC connector C2, terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire). If a poor connection exists, go to next step. If connection is okay, go to step 13).
- Repair poor connection at BFC connector C2, terminal B7 (Light Blue/Black wire). Go to step 14).
- Replace BFC. See «REMOVAL & INSTALLATION»(ref-32837-S37603108962001101500000) . Go to next step.
- Clear DTCs. Perform «BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK»(ref-32837-S31507406202001101500000) .
